Also, Russia won't give anyone the Tupolev-160.
probably they can sell it to India(of course without TOT and they will built them and give it to us) as we don't copy it and make our ow stuff..

I think, Operational means HATS, SATS, WATS completed. Commissioning will happen after training and all...

Operational Atv means nuke sub with live nukes on ocean patrol duties with navy.

Hi guys.

It seems like you don't understand WHAT is Su-34 designed for :)

First of all, it's not a fighter at all. It's a multifunctional tactical bomber. It can fight back, but it's primary role is different.

It's key advantage is an ability to perform long range, low-altitude sneaky runs with a two supersonic leaps on the route to break through an enemy AD.
Its combat radius is 1000km with a payload of 5 tons (8x500kg + 2xKhibiny-M ECCM pods on wingtips + 2xRVV-MD (R-77-1) + 2xRVV-SD (R-73/74)) on Low-Low-Low profile.

Noone from Indias AF planes garage can do this.

MKI can do it only subsonic and on Hi-Low-Hi profile.
Rafale? A-a :) Only 4 pitty 250kg bombs and a lot of fuel tanks. And of course, subsonic only.
Mirage-2000? 2 pitty bombs on the same range, Hi-Low-Hi, no Low-Low-Low at all, subsonic.

Su-34 is designed to destroy high priority targets on operative and tactic ranges while enemy AD has not been suppressed yet.
It is aerodynamically adjusted for long-range high-speed (sub and supersonic) low-altitude operations.
It has an enormous amount of fuel (it is crucial for LR LA operations because of high drag and turbulence in LA flight) and special stabilization algorythms in control system to reduce turbulence impact.

And also it has brilliant and wery powerful electronic surveillance and suppression suite making it compatible to EA-18G Growler in SEAD/DEAD roles. It can sneak on low profile to make it a little closer to long-range AD positions and fire Kh-58UShK anti-radar missile which range is 90-100 km starting from LA and 240km starting from MA/HA.

And SEAD/DEAD is the second Su-34 primary role in Russian AF.

The third main role is euro-strategic convention and nuclear strike and naval anti-carrier and anti-shipping operations which are on Tu-22M3 now. But Backfires are aging and too large for the navy needs, so...

Americans and Europeans have incepted the world with an illusion that they would strike any enemy as on the training ground, doing it from medium altitudes and having enough time to mark their targets.

But they forget this doesn't work when you fight with an equal opponent :) When your foe has complex network-centric AD, you won't act like on training. You will sneak and run, then strike and then sneak and run back.

Su-34 is a strike aircraft to fight in a big war against serious foes.

So, I wonder why India ignores it.

Good Point @gadeshi, but is Su-34 an offer for other nations to buy one? It is like a long range bomber to make a commercial deal.

And yes a very deadly platform.

Yes, they will offer it for sale and NAPO will be free enough to satisfy foreign orders after year 2015. Now NAPO makes Su-34 to satisfy Russian AF with their extreme need for modern multirole/deep strike aircraft.

Su-34 had been offered earlier as Su-32 and will be offered in the future and the most likely that the first customer will be Algeria, which is very pleased running Su-24MKs.

Once SF are allowed their own craft, am pretty sure they would go for Fullback... unless any better craft is produced by then.

There are plans to introduce Su-34M to change existing Su-34 from year 2015 and then on production line on NAPO.

It willl incorporate Su-35 integrated avionics (AESA radar, UV MAWS ad the other integrated optics - OEIS, 2 large displays for each pilot instead of 4 smaller ones, a new HUD - ShKAI-35, powerfull mission computers, new special designed ECM suit Tarantul, new ground-looking optical suite instead of existing Platan), also new engines (Al-31FM2/FM3 14,5 tons thrust each) and new weapons designed for PAK FA.
There are rumors about even 117S engines for Su-34 for unification.

So, it will be rather more exciting bird :)

BTW, pilots from Lipetsk "Top Gun" center call it a Platypus for remarkable nose shape.
Americans and Europeans call it Hellduck.

And actual line pilots from the first Su-34 squadrons in Voronezh call it Pterodactyl or even Toruk Makto after they have seen Avatar movie :)

I dont see any article regrading it was offered to India and India rejecting this offer,in fact I think it is some thing Strategic Force Command of India would like to pursue for their need of dedicated nuclear strike aircraft that they have been planning to pursue.

It was offered to everyone who wanted to buy it in 1990-s and will be offered in the future.
Guys from NAPO have stated that there were several foreign delegations on the NAPO plants to see how do they make it.
There are rumors about a new customers.
