This company has been approached to do a upgrade on the SVD-Dragunov.
Will share when I have more info.

You gotta share this man. They'll be one of the first to do an extensive modernization of it. If the AK one is an example, it'll look smexxyy.

Just need to replace the butt and handguard to increase the tacti-cool look. Maybe that will give it the look of a more desirable weapon......
Don't know but every new weapon of ofb looks the same except for little bit change in the handguard.

Army Inducts New Sniper Rifles To Respond To Ceasefire Violations By Pak Published March 21, 2019 | By admin SOURCE: ANI The Army has provided advanced sniper rifles to its troops posted along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kashmir Valley and Jammu region to retaliate ceasefire violation by Pakistan. Top Army sources informed ANI that the new sniper rifles were recently provided to some of the units in the Kashmir valley and Jammu region on the LoC and they were used effectively against Pakistani positions, which have been attacking Indian posts and personnel. The troops have been provided two new advanced sniper rifles including the Barrett M95 .50 BMG and Beretta Scorpio TGT ”Victrix” .338 Lapua Magnum. “About a week ago, in the Poonch sector along the LoC, the troops retaliated strongly against specific Pakistani positions which have been aiding and abetting infiltration activities and were also indulging in firing against our troops and posts,” the sources told ANI. “We have been able to cause significant damage to the Pakistan Army troops deployed and are trying to ascertain the extent of casualty caused to them,” the source added. Around 30 of the two sniper rifles have been procured by the Northern Army Commander through his special financial powers to augment the firepower of the troops on the LoC where Pakistanis had been sniping at Indian troops regularly. “Through our retaliatory action using new sniper rifles, we have also sent a message across that they have to be extremely cautious even before thinking out sniping at our soldiers as we can also hit them hard from long distances,” the source further said. Before using sniper rifles, the Indian Army was using Dragunov rifles from Russia which had certain issues with ammunition. The Army has also initiated a move to buy more than 6,500 sniper rifles for troops operating in the counter-insurgency operations under fast track procedures. All infantry units have been given a specific number of sniper rifles but at the moment, most of them do not have sufficient numbers. In a short while, we are expecting to meet the demands.

Heres my idea:

Carbine: AK 203 762x39
Battle Rifle: Sig 716 G2 762x51
GPMG: Negev 762x51
Sniper: Vetrix 338
Heavy Sniper: Gepard Lynx 12.7
HMG/AA: Kord 12.7

4 calibers, and all needs have been met. Personal protection, CQB, and non -frontline troops get the AK. Frontline troops get the SIG. The Negev can meet all LMG/GPMG needs. The Vetrix would fill the anti-personnel sniper role, the Gepard the anti-material role. The Kord can be used against infantry, light vehicles, and aircraft.

The only recent purchase I didnt agree with was the .50 Barret, as the IA already uses 12.7 far more than the .50 and there was really no need to deviate from th2e 12.7 to meet the requirement for a heavy sniper.

All 9mm and 556 systems should be phased out and given to police forces. 9mm is a pistol round, and 556 does not have the mass required to kill reliably. I am glad the INSAS system is finally being replaced. It has failed the troops for long enough. The AR 10 platform (Sig 716 G2) is going to fulfill the needs of the troops on the border far better than the INSAS ever did.

Punj Lloyd is under NCELT for bankruptcy. You wish to give them orders ??
Well it is NCLT and there is only problem with one lender ICICI Bank ,all other are onboard ,and it has certainly not filed for Bankruptcy, the case is about Punj Lloyd restructuring the debt and all stakeholders other than ICICI Bank are onboard including SBI

AK 203 is a little big to be carbine . More ammunition weight
A good smaller 5.56 will as Carbine suits the bill (ammunition line exists)
Vertix 338 is heavy Sniper / AMR
HMG as weapon system supplied by OFB has not been very successful
Rest all is fine

I asked a guy from Assam Police & a CRPF Jawan. Both were satisfied with the rifle but they find Bulgarian Arsenal M1F41 more refined than other AK clones. But again it lacks quad rail hand guard like Ghatak .
Abhe rails can be set up. Its not big issue.
But if we still cant make a refined weapon that too an Ak, then its gross incompetency
