Hope they don't do the dumb mistake of not conducting a competiton for selecting carbines from indian OEMs and going for the OFB carbine and crying about it after some years later

We cannot seem to move fast on procurement of carbines despite 'fast tracking' it. What a sorry state of affairs. We now even have many private companies manufacturing at home but things wont just move. An example of policy paralysis and indecision at MoD level

No I think that doesn't mean that .the winning gun design would be given to both l1 and l2.it is pretty common in western countries

The problem is that it's almost certain that one of the manufacturer would be OFB or whatever 7 things it's is now .its almost certified that those suckers would cry and go to strike if a deal of this magnitude is not given to them

Not exactly our budget is pretty low when it comes to allotted expenditure per soldier.

Then add corruption and a non existent defence industry which makes you import everything.. from socks , shoes to rifles.
