INSAS to army after their 69th failed attempt to get a universal replacement for standard issue rifle

joking aside, if they are now finally considering about giving rails and attachment upgrades to INSAS 1B, they should also think about giving it a mid-life upgrade like thing to its godawful build of receiver, i mean fetch some milled Excalibur Mk.1C receiver off nearby OFB // AWEIL factory and swap it in place of older one, the final product would be good enough to serve for next decade at least, i guess it's very basic armourer-level job
(for turning INSAS into full auto one from 3RB one, removal of its TRB clockwork mechanism from fire selector and a spring-pawl thing off its hammer would suffice)
it'd look something like this at end

How i wish my India builds or acquires something like this ....

One High quality / precision platform ...which covers 5.56 or 7.62x39 or 7.62x51 .....and everything else in between.......Not entirely path breaking as this has been done earlier(Colt CM901) ....But this is piston and from a reputed manufacturer, which has a very good track record in reliability and quality...
