From Palm-size Drone To Sniper Rifle: Army Bolsters Ops With Advanced Weaponry In J&K
In a move aimed at enhancing the operational capabilities of the Indian Army in the challenging region of Jammu and Kashmir, airpower has been integrated into the special forces' operations. The deployment of cutting-edge equipment, including the "War Mate"-- a combat UAV that falls under -- the Loitering Ammunition Drone category, and the "Black Hornet Nano"-- a palm-sized surveillance drone, marks a substantial leap in the Indian Army's capabilities.

The "War Mate" Suicide Air Craft is a game-changing addition that empowers the Indian Army to effectively neutralise adversaries hiding in concealed locations or hideouts without posing any threat of collateral damage. The recent addition of the loitering munitions system to the Indian armed forces marks its entry into the inventory of advanced loitering munitions. These munitions, characterized by their lightweight construction and versatile mission capabilities, have gained prominence on the modern battlefield over the past ten years. Their flexibility allows for transportation by both land and special forces, facilitating deployment on various platforms and seamless integration with onboard systems.

On the other hand, the "Black Hornet Nano" Palm-Sized Surveillance Drone is a remarkable addition, capable of deep-diving up to 2 kilometres into hostile territories while remaining virtually undetectable due to its nano size. This advanced surveillance drone plays a pivotal role in providing critical intelligence and reconnaissance support to Indian Army units on the ground.

In addition to the aerial assets, the Indian Army has acquired the Indian "Dragnov" sniper rifle, further augmenting its precision operations. The 338 Saber Sniper Rifle, designed for engaging targets up to 1500 meters and beyond, is manufactured by the Indian company -- SSS Defence. According to the company, it is a heavy barrel, manually operated, bolt action rifle that is capable of shooting sub-MoA or better in the hands of a qualified marksman with match-grade ammunition.

Another noteworthy addition is the M72 rifle, offering a significant edge in close-quarter battles with its remarkable firing rate of 600-700 rounds per minute. This weapon is easy to handle and provides point-dot accuracy.

These state-of-the-art weapons not only enhance the Indian Army's operational capabilities but also underscore the nation's commitment to the "Made in India" initiative within the defence sector, highlighting the country's self-reliance and technological innovation.

There is no way some journalist wrote this "According to the company, it is a heavy barrel, manually operated, bolt action rifle that is capable of shooting sub-MoA or better in the hands of a qualified marksman with match-grade ammunition"
