First and foremost; AK platform has long been turned obsolete.
Long stroke gas piston, pinned barrel, two lug bolt, reciprocating charging handle, dust cover...

Now coming to specific points.

In past few years there has been a disruptive innovation in the field of machine guns, especially light ones. Now you can get a belt fed light machine gun with quick change barrel approximately in the same weight category of a magazine fed "LMG".
KAC's LAMG, FN's Evolys or SIG's MG are what's going to be the future...not some Darra modified AK with 60 round magazine.

As for DMR, AKs are notorious for being inaccurate. Even custom made AK based DMRs like Tabuks are way less accurate than even the older DMRs like Dragunov.

Not to mention the 7.62x39 pill drops like a rock after 300yards.

Lmao the top rail is plastic stuck to metal, which has warped already.

What an easy and cheap way to convert AK103 to 203, why didnt we think of this /s.

The Indian Ak203 has a side folding rigid buttstock and the extended lip on the safety lever removed. Earlier decisions opted for the Ak103 handguard instead, but this has been changed to the new one. That's pretty much all the difference.

We have the extended lip IG, but not the collapsing buttstock (fine by me, it seems to have issues with QD placement anyway)

This is IRRLP incompetency at best, that is literally AK 103. Even the dumbest guy wouldnt buy that when deal was made for 203, and while our MOD might drop some things, they cant be dumb enough to drop all.

A much more logical and economical and totally indigenous way of having a 7.62x39mm assault rifle (if at all it was that desperately needed) that didn't required a complete new factory or even a JV and ultimately would have resulted in better platform because of milled receiver could have been taken, but...

To be fair, if used with an optic, accuracy is sufficient till ~400 meters. Beyond that bhagwaan bharose, maybe harrassing fire but you wont hit much. 9 Hole reviews had some tests on AK103+optic, similar should be out of AK-203.

The 7.62x39 round gets no benefit after 12/12.5 inches of barrel travel. The extra length is there to make the recoil manageable. It was never intended to be a high velocity round. Which is why Russians use 5.45

The logic is that our soldiers arent trained enough to hit beyond 300 anyways so who cares. Most engagements in warfare happens in close proximities anyways so you can have that copium.
