Most probably never posted by any major defence media despite being present at DEFEXPO. These Astr guys got their first prototype of composite cased ammunition out. Anybody has any more info on it??

Interestingly Astr defense also got award by IAF for hard kill counter UAS system posted on twitter, I thought they were only a firearms manufacturing company.

Never knew such optics were being designed developed and made in India. I thought only Tonbo was there but they specialise in thermal related optics and smart optics.

ASTR was never a xyz manufacturing company, it was simply a bunch of people who happened to have the best knowledge of prototyping using additive manufacturing in whole of India who somehow got hold of some leaked TDP.

Now coming to hard kill system for UAS.
Try to find a guy named "C. J. Varghese", he's the goldmine here.
As soon as he announced he's patented a hard kill APS, plethora of Indian firms ranging from Solar Explosives to ASTR have come with something similar.
Coincidence? May be, may be not.

ASTR was never a xyz manufacturing company, it was simply a bunch of people who happened to have the best knowledge of prototyping using additive manufacturing in whole of India who somehow got hold of some leaked TDP.

It's not even a bunch of people to begin with. It's basically one mechanical graduate who have a good interest in defence and aerospace, whose father owns a decently big mechanical engineering company, visited army bases and with permission with MoD officials, "took a calipers and measured the dimensions of Indian and foreign gun present with the army" and made first prototype at OFB Ishapore factory.
