Heavy barrel is less prone to get excessive hot, longer life, can do full auto better than others as it don't get hot quickly..

Its expensive and heavy..

Looking at the recent posts, some of the things that stand out are:

• Some people care about what a gun looks like.
• Some people care about accuracy.
• Some people care about reliability.
• Some people care about weight and portability.

Personally, while I appreciate beauty and craftsmanship in gun-smithy and carpentry (see the examples above), a gun's primary purpose is defense (or offense if you will), so I would chose accuracy first. Some might chose reliability. Collectors (and musea) will chose beauty.
