Ok go ahead and plop down hundreds of dollars for the optics and take it out in the field under combat conditions and see how long it will last.
People have done it time and time again all over the world with multiple forces, for example a aimpoint optic survived a house fire. Their battery life lasts for years and are almost impossible to break. You should do some research, the days of fragile optics are far gone.

Please refer to the book the 'Khalistan Conspiracy's by G.B.S Sidhu who was a former IPS / R&AW officer.

It explains how the Gurdwara was allowed to turn into a fortress with guns from police stocks.

IMHO, guns for Khalistanis from Afghanistan started to spike around the year 1990 coinciding with the killings in Kashmir.

Aaaha, that old road of grenade-rifles on which numerous warriors have tried walking but eventually they all got perished in the ruthless sands of time.

You'll be remembered China Lake Launcher. And OICW, how can be forget you! But perhaps the bravest of all, XM-25, you'll always be remembered with honour. But all these doesn't mean you were inferior PAW-20, no my friend, you too tried all you could have.
