Nice gun Nice Optic Decent Plate Carrier but the brass catcher always remains with any Indian unit (actually a lot of Asian military and police units).

Brass catchers are preferable in "poor" countries like ours , gotta save something for recycling

Just a query , whats the operating system of the ar 15s , Short stroke gas piston or DI based ?
Also they could've gone with Magpul stocks , since they're already in our inventory

I think inside the handguard , oh even I f0rgor , is that a free floater barrel ? also can anyone id the handguard . The original wala , since I still refuse to believe , the "Made in India" . So I wanna know the original vendor or 3rd party spare parts manufacturer

I know that it'll be inside the handguard Saar

But where is it? I can't see it through the slots in the handguard

Pic quality is good enough to be zoomed and his concern is valid. Ideally, we should be able to see that gas block unless they had these models specifically for a photoshoot.

I still believed that RECR had some chances in primary issue AR competition , looking ak-103m deal(since I don't consider the India version 203) pace .

SBR variant of the AR15 patterned rifle is being pitched for the Carbine deal, but they haven’t yet publicly shown a model of it.
“Nope, there wasn’t a JV (with LMT), we thought there could be one but it never happened since the guys refused any tech sharing without contracts from the army & min orders. This rifle is an entirely new ground up construct, 100% indigenous design, based on a DI system but we’re also keen on a later stage short stroke piston op sys, 14.5” barrel, fires the 5.56x45 NATO but we’re working to adapt to the INSAS round as well. U can share on DFI. We’ll come out in the open officially later but it’s not a secret any more since the army has a 350,000 CQB Carbine RFP in the fray. We’re technically the only fully Indian option that is available from the production floor”.
“U’ll see a short barrel length version and that’s the main weapon. Also a long barrel version that can be adapted to a mag fed LMG role. However, we’re focused on the SBR”. -Viv Krishnan.

I see , this is somewhat on the footsteps of HK416 and Scar . Similarity in initiative with the HAMR and IAR 27

Not only gas block and gas tube, but also something else's missing, i'd advise you all to watch these pics carefully AS well as the vdo they posted on their youthoob channel around 2:24 onwards, and no i'm not talking about missing dust cover on their AR but something more crucial in its operating...

a hint - it is present in one of their AR but not on other...and if it would be missing it won't go full auto...

i actually noticed it all during the very first day the vdo came out and even started writing a post but then i needed to focus on real life stuff so put it in draft and...later made up my mind over writing it and just deleted it all...why bother...

as for @AlphaRaiderZ 's question, it is undoubtly (stoner pattern) direct impingement gas system weapon, a typical AR styled, as you can clearly see gas vent holes on the bolt carrier on centre;

however the gas block+tube etc "seems" not to be installed on their build so it could be at maxx a ;manual action rifle; at this stage...so yeah...
