The LWRC 6.8 mag well is larger than a standard 5.56 mag well.

The reason behind the larger mag well, is the recent trend toward polymer magazine has brought forward salute of manufactures, but none of them took the necessary steps to actually face the engineering required to make a proper polymer magazine. since the original 5.56 mag well was dimensioned for a sheet metal magazine, so the problem when building a polymer is to try to fit a thicker wall(polymer) magazine into a mag well that was made for a sheet metal thin mag.

LaRue at SHOT 2011

LaRue updated their 7.62 OBR with a lighten rail and a light weight barrel, the difference in weight is tremendous.

The new rail cover can be secure in place via a screw mount.

LaRue innovative scope design starts with a S&B PM Scope with a Horus reticle, turn the scope upside down and then turn the reticle right side up, moving the top turret in between the scope tube and the upper receiver. thus eliminated the required height for the red dot to clear the top turret. even a small change as such make a huge difference in person.

LaRue's in house suppressor for his OBR
