It's an open secret that the same Western brands just changed their brand names to continue operating in the same structure. Russia is a big market and no one would want to forego those billions. Biden cannot print dollars and hand it over to Microsoft, and others without causing a financial meltdown in their country.
All those American and European snacks are coming from third-party countries like Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other neutral countries. It's a simple case of re-export. No one checks the consumable goods going anywhere.
I could open a dealership in Dubai and re-export everything from the West to Russia openly without breaking a sweat.
Russia has found other substitutes from other markets as well - China, Turkey, India, Brazil and several others are stepping in on a ripe market.
