No it won’t. Electorally modi has a lot to lose if he doesn’t strike back
What happens when you kick a pile of dog feces? It makes no sense to hit pakistan mainland, we don't want all those unwashed abduls and ayeshas running to our border looking for asylum. We need targeted hits on the terrorist leadership and that needs time so as to build the element of surprise. Modi is good at it - look at the extraditions of all the crooks that happened recently (very suspicious that this attack happened now).

Few good analysts have seconded my POVs on this issue at Republic TV debate. Probably they are reading DFI.

I hope swarms of Hellraisers from forces will start knocking on thousands of doors in the valley soon.

No arrests only blood.

Pulwama attack: Seven detained, 80 kg high-grade RDX used by Jaish terrorist

The Jammu and Kashmir police has detained seven persons from Pulwama district in south Kashmir in connection with the deadly terror attack that killed 40 CRPF personnel near Awantipora, officials said on Friday.

The youths were detained from Pulwama and Awantipora during the night on suspicion of links with the planning of the suicide attack, the first-of-its-kind in which a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist detonated an explosive-laden vehicle near a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) bus.

A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team, along with explosives and forensic experts, collected the materials required for a forensic evaluation of the scene of crime. Considering the status of the scene of crime, the team will continue with sifting of the material on Saturday as well. The outcome will be made known once the analysis is over. The overall planning of the terror strike is believed to be done by a Pakistani national, Kamran of JeM, who has been operating and moving in the Pulwama, Awantipora and Tral areas of south Kashmir.

The "fidayeen" (suicide attacker) was identified as Adil Ahmad from Kakapora in Pulwama. He had joined the JeM in 2018.According to initial investigations, the plan for the terror strike was hatched in the Midoora area of Tral. The police are also looking for another local JeM overground worker, who was instrumental in arranging the explosives.

High-grade RDX explosive, weighing about 80 kilogram , was used in a suicide attack on a CRPF bus that killed 40 security personnel in one of the deadliest terror strikes on security forces in the Kashmir Valley in three decades, officials said Friday. The attack in Pulwama has prompted the CRPF to tweak the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the movement of its convoys in the future, by providing additional security personnel in the buses that transport troops to and from the Kashmir valley.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh had also said in Srinagar that civilian traffic movement during plying of convoys will be restricted. The officials said a post-blast investigation conducted by security agencies has found that "high-grade RDX" of about 80 kilogram was detonated in the blast that was carried out by a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist after he rammed his explosive laden SUV into the ill-fated bus--HR 49 F 0637--from the left side. The suicide attack took place at the 272nd milestone on National Highway near Latoomode in Pulwama at about 3:33 pm.

The officials said the scattered remains of the bus, reduced to blackened bare frames after the blast, does not reflect that an improvised explosive device (IED) was used to target it.The fatal damage can be wreaked by a better grade of explosive like RDX, they said. The attacked bus was the fifth in the convoy of 78 vehicles which also included as many as 16 bullet-proof protection bunker vehicles that had joined the convoy an hour back from the last halt spot of Qazigund to guard troop movement.

The suicide attack was a novel way to ambush the convoy by ramming an explosives laden vehicle, leaving little for the mobile contingent's protection units to do, the official said. The terrorist drove the vehicle on the highway from a link road on the Kakapora-Lelhar side and was moving parallel to the bus belonging to the 76th battalion, and the investigators suspect the explosion was triggered, killing all 39 occupants.Assistant Sub Inspector Mohan Lal, deployed on the highway as part of the road opening party (ROP), also got trapped in the blast and was the 40th trooper to be killed.

The last such convoy had moved from Jammu to Kashmir on February 4 in 91 vehicles and had 2,871 personnel but all went well that day, they said. The movement of convoys was shut for the last few days due to bad weather in the valley.

The killed personnel hailed from Uttar Pradesh (12), Rajasthan (5), Punjab (4), West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Bihar two each and one each from Assam, Kerala, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. There were 27 constables in service profiles of combat, cook, driver and bugler, 12 head constables and an ASI.

Ideology and funding are the two things that keep a movement/organization running, unless and until we curb/extinguish those we will never be able to tackle the terrorism threat. These 'surgical strikes' are meaningless as killing low level cadre isn't a big deal, the leaders will just call up a madrassa and ask them to send more people. In fact, destroying a Pak post deals more damage as we manage to kill trained personnel on whom lots of money has been spent.
Surgical strike has a motive and that is to strike back. Rather than have ostrich strategy of yesteryears we must be aggressive and proactive.

Yep. I used to be a little dismissive of his tweets earlier but have come to respect his info!
I think he's connected to some folks in the military or himself in the military.

Punch a hole through Gujarat and Rajasthan side, that's the place porki least expect an attack from. After that do your thing in POK. Hows that for a dumb idea.
Glad someone said it. For too long have we admitted the "sanctity" of the border. The whole of Pakistan is stolen land. There is no sanctity anywhere. It'll be kinda cool if we raise temperatures in POK and capture Sindh instead. The navy can blockade Karachi to prevent the US from re-supplying ammo to Pakistan while the army takes Sindh. There's enough force to defeat a Pakistani counter attack from Rajasthan. What else is Pakistan going to do? channelize their forces from the mountains of POK after we capture their plains? Just capture large chunks of plains and hold it against any counter attacks. The road to liberate POK is easier to traverse via the plains than via mountains.

Those terror camps are probably empty by now, pak army and airforce on full alert.
Last Surgical Strikes was against their Handlers and moral of PA. Who give two shits about Kurta-Salwars. This time too any response will aim directly at the moral of Pakistani Military establishment.

Pakistanis used their proxies to hit our military directly so the response has to be also against one or two of Pakistani Military asset. This is the minimum requirement.

Govt should clamp down war rhetoric in MSM and social media.
These media&Social media rhetoric only puts more pressure on govt and security forces. It is not good for both security forces and govt.
War frenzy among citizens is not a new phenomenon. Remains standard throughout the democratic world. GoI and Military are well aware of it and very used to. So they will do what they have to do regardless.

Besides Pulwama attack has multiples faces ranging from Local to Foreign. So it will be responded to on multiple sides. It will definitely start with CoIN in Kashmir but Pakistan is not getting away without enduring a severe punishment. As it is now in public that PA is directly involved in it. And we are more than capable of doing it in multiple ways. The only question is what is most punishing yet lest expected by Pakistanis.

That is my fear is. they fucking started leaking things.PAF is at alert 1. Indian journalism should be taught lesson first.
Well, there a factor of deception that needs to be built before you conduct any operation. The best way to do it in the age of information is to simply overburden your enemy by an open discussion on all the obvious options without doing anything for a while. And when the enemy starts to get complacent (human nature btw) strike with a least expected response. That how last Surgical Strike was carried out.

Everything is very much part of the plan. Even the media coverage and discussions.

I won't comment on the quality of the article though.

Air strikes were suggested in tv debates after Uri also. Its always good to keep enemy guessing.
Along with direct strikes which most people are predicting there shld be some covert action also. On some PAF or PN base where alot of uniformed jihadis are fried and hardware destroyed.
