come on guys why get all worked up ?
every country will do its best to out smart its rival
but one important factor which all of us disregards is how strong and self independent is a nations civilian industrial complex and its protege the military industrial complex which will have a final say in the outcome between a conflict between 2 nations.
technology is always a work in progress , weapons systems or counters to weapon systems r made keeping in mind present and future threat perceptions.
again a weapon system cannot be viewed in isolation , as every weapon system has a kill chain associated with it.
all it requires is to identify the most vulnerable points and hit them to put it out of action. nor does it requires it to be a hard kill , infact a soft kill will also do the job perfectly.
why do u think india has wasted billions of dollars in EW systems . even the chinese were impressed enough to make an attempt to steal it.
again indian EW systems (air & land based) r meant to operate over a vast EM spectrum and identify , locate , suppress , spoof etc hostile emissions .AKA dominate and own the enemies entire EM spectrum.
infact they can effectively render electronic fuzes / electronic components of missiles , artillery rockets useless in their area of operation.
also do take a look at the number of stand off munitions india is developing ,
latest weapon i heard is of SANT which based on HELINA , good luck trying to detect, forget trying to hit a LCH flying in at tree top levels en route to kill HQ-16, as any aircraft flying below the radar envelope will not be detected (unless they back it up with low level radar).
again even flying in a terrain hugging mode will induce large amounts of ground clutter which a MR SAM optimized radar will have a tough time coping with, the radar operator will be pressing the reset button again and again. :biggrin2:
HQ-16 (LY-80) Air Defence Missile System has a venerability among others that its associated target guidance / illumination radar can be spoofed by showing up numerous false electronic targets leading to launching of missiles at imaginary targets,
so all in all it depends on the technical capability of the country in concern, india has all the necessay tech. building blocks all it needs is the end user to frame requirements and for the govt to allocate funds .
i dont want to right an essay here but there r many ways to defeat such or even better sams .
for those u want immediate solution plz send in a sucide drone or maybe a brahmos to take out the guidance radar :biggrin2:
