After 4 wars and to continue having these problems is a shame. A major failure on
the part of the Indian Goverment , total incompetence.

By 'bombing', I presume you mean the artillery.

India does not use air power!
according to some reports IA tried to use gunship choppers but when they met heavy fire and reports of stinger by PA they moved back:wave::wave::wave:

India should be pounding this area with BM-21's instead of letting them rust
save the BM-30(SMERCHES),Pinakas and Howitzers for later.

I write this because I simply like doing calculations of this type. If the Pakis are boxed into a hilly forested area of 2 sq km - the area 2,000,000 sq meters. Because of hilly terrain the area will be a bit more that 2 million sq. m and trees/rocks/terrain will provide some blast protection.

Google tells me a 155 mm shell is lethal over a 50 meter radius = 8000 sq meters
A 1000 pounder bomb (450 kg) has a blast radius of 200 m = 125,000 sq meters

If placed appropriately to cover the entire area one Jaguar worth of 1000 pounders should do the job assuming that the "2 sq km" are is a circular or oval patch and not some snaky patch of ground that is 200 meters broad and 10 km long next to the LOC.

Maybe the terrain is simply not conducive to saturation bombing/shelling. The Americans failed in Vietnam because of thickly forested terrain, apart from other factors. I guess the army on the ground knows best and I am guessing that the Paki SSG are clever enough to use terrain that would be most difficult for the Indian army to deal with.

Army personnel engaged in flushing out Pakistan-based terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir busted yet another hideout near the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district on Monday.

The hideout, located in a forest area near Venkari village, is designed to hold as many as four terrorists.

The army recovered some weapons and ammunition from the hideout. They seized an AK-series rifle, two rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), a disposable rocket launcher, a pistol and some ammunition.

A marked map of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), a letter pad of a terror outfit (Tanzeem), khaki dresses and some damaged Indian currencies were also seized.

Firing mortars is not an option

The area is Nothing but dense forests everywhere
on the mountain ridges and slopes

People should see the limited TV footage available before commenting

Our soldiers are moving very slowly ; crawling at times ; hiding behind trees

In a group of 5 soldiers ; 2 are watching the rear because the enemy might
be lying in ambush

Before firing mortars our soldiers will have to step back and the cordon
which has been put in with so much effort will be broken

Direct firing weapons are the best option

The enemy is using and carrying UBGLs and Rocket launchers

During the initial search, a large quantity of war like stores, including six AK-47 riffles, 10 pistols, four UBGL, four Disposable Rocket Launchers and six small rucksacks have was recovered.
