Ya'll Nibbiars Kamortha also costed the same. Cochin Shipyard bid is much lower than expected hardly they will make any profits. And I don't think we are going to leave the Soviet Naval Philosophy. So can expect desigm to be larger for further upgrades.

They need to keep weight in control if they want follow on orders. We'll need many many ships in this class at around 2000 tonnes if we want to counter Chinese numbers.

I don't get it , kamorta has Enough space , if navy wants it can add mf star to it , add brahmos and vlsrsam or barak 8 , but they want to keep it under armed

bro those things arnt cheap.Just the barak8 suite(including mfstar) cost around 180 mln for each nilgiri class.Kamorta's will get either 16 or 32 vlsrsam thats more than enough for ship of its class.
Not every navy is russian or israeli navy each have their own philosophies and constrains they design and built their ships accordingly.
