It's called Lambda Wing, and it can't keep up with the J20 with long-distance coupled canard wings, enlarged side strips and medium trapezoidal sweep angle.
pure fantasy, it supercruises, it is smaller and it is tailess, with TVC nozzles, it will fly fast, it will be harder to spot visually and better, it has an engine of 18 tonnes and a Max take off of 18000kg make your math, at combat weight will enjoy better than 1;1 thrust to weight ratio, in 2023 it will fly, the one you saw is a static prototype.

Cihina did a PR display first made the fuselage but has not made the engine, Russia went for the engine it flies on Su-57 and soon on Su-75.

got it J-31 is crap too fat and underpowered because you make first the engine but China copied F-35 withouot a f135 engine

First, you should not only look at the thrust of the aircraft, but also the lift-to-drag ratio of the aircraft, and more importantly, the wing load
Can Product 30 maintain supersonic cruise? A big question mark is drawn.

Take a closer look, this new fighter has two DSI inlets
There's a partition in the center of the intake, it's not clear if it's designed to split airflow in half or a support structure of that wrap-around intake

Mods, why is this a sticky thread? Discussing it is of no value as we won’t be buying any of Checkmates.

Aircrafts at supersonic speed are easier to detect using DAS-like and EOTS type sensors. That's why the stealthiest penetrating aircrafts are subsonic, B-2, the incoming B-21, and various stealthy flying wing VLOs.

This is not a J-20 thread. However the J-20 definitely is not some superior aerodynamic design. The J-20 uses ventral fins, it’s just an extra source of drag that also increases RCS, no other ‘stealth’ aircraft has any ventral fins. The fuselage is also extremely broad (wide and tall) again extra drag. Large vertical stabilizers...again extra drag. Elongated frame....again more drag. Large intakes with serpentine channels...once more extra drag.

The airframe is also very heavy...regardless of the fluff internet figures claiming its light. It definitely is not light by any stretch of the imagination. The fuselage is enormous, wings are large, fuel tanks large, engines large. The J-20 should have great range, and it seems to have potent weapons, a large radar that should have plenty of power but maneuverable it is not, light it isn’t not and super cruise capabilities....my guess is very unlikely due to issues with drag and weight. Maybe it might pull it off with no weapons and 25% fuel.

Why does it bother you? Just don’t post if it does not interest you. Plenty of other people find this interesting. Like it or not India purchases equipment from Russia and even works closely on projects with Russia so this aircraft is important...regardless of your personal distaste or your opinions about it. This aircraft may very well be purchased by India so I would not dismiss it so easily. It’s possible India was the secret client that will place orders for this aircraft.

In the least some of the systems such as engines, missiles, radar ect may be incorporated on other Indian aircraft such as Sukhois.

I didn’t say delete this thread, I just said that it should not be made sticky, it is DFI not DFG that foreign maal which doesn’t bother us should be discussed priority wise, Indian threads of importance should remain sticky, it’s up to mods.

And no India will not buy it, it’s not my opinion it’s the statement of IAF chief that no 5th gen aircraft will be bought, now stfu.

This is a jet without much drag, if you think J-20 is better, surprise surprise canards have a lot of induced drag, add ventral fins.

Subsonic means they fire you a missile you can not scape this fighter has supercruise basically is a F-22 without the drag of tailerons.

A titanic volume of water has flowed down the river since I had last posted in this thread.

For all those people who were saying that the LTS is a mock-up, well there's some bad news.

This isn't a wooden mockup hastily assembled . This is the actual prototype and tech demonstrator. Like we have T-50 KNS in the Pakfa program ,similarly bort 075 is a static test airframe. According to the deputy designer, Bulatov , it is this same frame that will take the first flight after the required ground tests are completed. But I very much doubt it since static test specimens usually dont fly.

Besides a lot of assemblies and components have been used from the Su-57. These include the canted all moving rudders, the cockpit, landing gear and even the wings.

Even there is a lot of commonality between the two forward fuselages barring the intakes. Both these acs can accomodate the same aperture area radar. The only constraint being the power and cooling requirements.

It has a Su-57 sized main weapons bay which can accomodate two Grom E1/ Kh-69/ Kh-58 Ushke sized A2G missiles or three RVV-SD class of A2a missiles.

If you want a cheap but capable VLO fighter jet in the 5-5.5 gen class which is not only easy to procure but also has a low per hour flying cost, then Sukhoi LFS is your jet .

Because it uses so many of already proven tech and parts from its larger cousin , it will be relatively cheaper to produce due to economies of scale and will also have a shorter detailed engineering / R&D cycle and a shorter flight test and certification schedule compared to other 5th gen jets now being developed elsewhere.

Best close up of the cockpit yet. A little deviation...I’m interested to see the new helmet go into service, it’s supposed be similar to the F-35 helmet, in that it can see through the aircraft. Anyways a lot parallels to the F-35 in terms of cockpit, EOTS, and helmet. Let’s see the actual timeframe that it will take this aircraft to go into production. Hopefully no major issues. The SU-57 has given engineers of the Checkmate a lot of experience.
It will be helpful using some of the same or modified parts from the SU-57, in that it will save in development time and overall lower the cost. Sukhoi has gained a lot of experience and know how by building the SU-57, Superjet 100, SU-35 and SU-34. Plus many other aircraft under the United Aircraft Corporation umbrella have been built such as MiG-35, MC-21, TU-214R and more. This will aid and speed up develop, lower cost and help in setting up production lines quicker.
