Ok... Yes, that part or the hump you are talking of could house sensors and electronics for sure. But LCA overall would not have that structure. Maybe we could se it in later versions but not in current ones. As far as testing of this model for drag coefficient is concerned, we have the test results in the LCA thread I believe which has been shared long back. It has been adequately tested.

IMO, using that hump for fuel tank purpose is not a good idea. Mig-29 does have such similiar structure which is used for sensor housing.
That's alright, they don't have to use the hump for fuel. NP-2 has a lot of equipment behind the pilot, probably moved due to reinforced undercarriage & huge landing gear:

It's just additional space & they can add/enlarge fuel-tanks as needed. Mark1A could have almost 1.5 times the range if built this way.
Removing the 2nd pilot from IAF Tejas trainer cockpit would leave a lot of extra room!

As per 2016 CAG report, they have defects in engines, airframes and fly-by-wire systems. Serviceability of MiG-29K & KUB reached from 15.93%-37.63% & 21.30%-47.14%; respectively, with 40 engines (62%) being rejected/withdrawn from service due to design defects.

Why the fuck would they place the follow-up order of 29 more?!!.. They have, what, 44 now?.. That's enough for two 40k-45k ton carriers.
What'll be the role of 57 additional one then? All for the 3rd carrier, or they plan on getting rid of Mig-29K? ...And TEDBF?
Mig-29K is not only a suboptimal option but also our only option. And despite all the shortcomings it is much better than J-15; the widow-maker. So Navy will keep and use it in best possible ways till TEDBF arrives.

Ironically, PLAN might have 2ACs with 3rd joining shortly but practically it has no air wing. So IN is still dominating with what she has got.

NLCA surely adds an option of having a A2A platform for fleet Air Defense. It's rate of availability should the deciding factor. Let's see what future holds.

Their planes are based on the Su 33 which is severely overweight and badly designed. Te numbers of J 15 are also limited so they need to start a second run again.
J-15 has serious FCS issues in addition to host of other mechanical class. One can copy Su-33 physically but copying FCS for complex Carrier based ops requires full understanding of the design. Collectively J-15 was a non starter from word go. Chinese are already developing a replacement.
In comparison Mig-29Ks are much better.

What's trap, an arrested landing? And what's overshoot?

Also, haven't the released single video after that?

Arrested landing is the one where you use hook into the wires to slow down.

Overshoot is when you try to land, but for some reason have to keep running on the deck and fly out the other end.

Our carrier designs are STOBAR I think.

'Bolter' and 'Trap' are USN lingo for Over Shoot & Arrested Landing, respectively.

Whenever a new aircraft or a pilot is to attempt a deck-landing/arrested landing he first familiarize himself with Carrier in a particular sequence.

1. A wide circuit: A rectangular pattern around Carrier for visual familiarization

2. Wave-off: fly-by pattern over landing area with actual approach to the back of the Carrier).

3. Bolter(forced): The land based equivalent of Touch & Go. Herein pilot touch down with his hook retracted intentionally. With it he assesses accuracy and synchronicity of his landing aids on his aircraft and+with those on the carrier.

4. Trap: This time he flies a landing pattern. Makes a sharp turn to back end of ship. Calls the 'Paddles' (USN lingo for LSO). Catches ILS. Deploys 'Hook'. Aims for 3rd wire and guids his aircraft to it with mainly throttle adjustments. Till Hook catches the wire (on the ship) and beings the aircraft to full stop with 4.5 g de-acceleration.

In Vikramaditya, apparently they have 3 wires & you are supposed to go for the middle one... NP-2 landing missed it & caught the last.
