DCs is simulator platform for fighter aircraft helicopters and ground vehicles as well. This squadron is a team who do PvP matches in tournaments 4v4 or more. The no.15 battle axes are the most experienced. They have tactics school for players who join the squadron known as TACDE. The CO is a former iaf pilot.

I am a bit surprised that 18 Tejas would be bought for use (according to IDU video) as trainers. Surely they would be used as fighters as well. Why would you make them part of a carrier's contingent otherwise?

I also wonder when they would be built and where.

"Navy is considering HAL’s proposal to procure 18 jets that will be deputed on board both aircraft carriers to serve as an upcoming dedicated carrier training squadron and also has a point air defense interceptor."

IMO we could try modding our seaplanes as refueling tankers... Indian Navy's US-2 can carry 15ton liquid from sea (takeoff with that much water in firefighting flybys)... And can take off from rough sea with up to 3m high waves.

The STOBAR takeoff problem solved by minimal hassle. Land them at sea, refurl from our tanker vessels & take off. Carrier's jets can take off with as much ordnance as possible, but with minimal internal fuel & empty droptanks to fill everything up once in the air;

I guess in a situation where the AC's don't have air wings and TEDBF or an N-MRCA purchase are years away from providing tangible results - this would be a creative and sensible stopgap solution.

Not a fan of single engine light fighters on AC's in the long run though; once a proper alternative arrives - they should be shifted to shore/island duty.

How trustworthy could this be?

India’s Most-Ambitious HAL Tejas Could Succumb To F-18 Super Hornet In Navy’s Carrier-Based Fighter Jet Deal?

We know both F-18 & Rafales have their chances in (–)ve... So not too much. Plus it's not updated with the news reports of proposals to induct a trainer squadron.
