That was earlier prototype. But still from the video of shoulder firing (by OFB employee) and waist firing (from Lt. General Joshi), it seems the recoil was less than sig-716. Try waist firing Sig-716, and jawans might need hip replacement surgery.

Compared to :
I suppose rate of fire affects recoil ,isn't it ?
Genral saab and ofb karamchaari are firing single round and not short bursts .

Yeah a little difference between them.

But Sig on single round firing also has high recoil.

Look at single shot firing from a shoulder fire position with standing shooter. Around 2:02 secs

IMHO a muzzle device is required for our Sig716i ASAP, to reduce the recoil. Though it can cause some flash and sound problems, but it will come in handy especially since it is tasked with dual role of DMR (targeting Paki posts, as well as terrorist approaching fencing at a distance) + close quarter firefight role (with terrorist and BAT fielding AKs) along LOC.

From 2:20 onwards,

Muzzle brakes, aka compensators, work somewhat like flash hiders in that they redirect muzzle gas. But instead of shaping and concealing the gas to reduce visible muzzle flash to the shooter, muzzle brakes work to redirect and use that gas to reduce the climb and recoil of a firearm after shooting it. A good muzzle brake can improve your accuracy. By reducing felt recoil, muzzle brakes prevent the shooter from getting tired over multiple shots and can help reduce flinching or tensing up before the shot too, both of which negatively affect accuracy. Whether we’re talking ports cut into the muzzle of your rifle or a special brake screwed onto the end of your rifle, a muzzle brake will improve the accuracy and make it easier to shoot.

Downside of muzzle break : high sound

Solution: suppressor + muzzle break combo.

That is a compromise for reduced recoil. The sig-716s are issued to troops at LOC, where in addition to a long range DMR role, it also can face sudden BAT action resulting in a firefight with an AK-47. Hence, the full auto and controllability is needed and hence the requirement of a muzzle brake.

PS: IA project management team, when working with RFI on the 7.62 *51 mm rifle made sure a big sized muzzle device is added onto it. Earlier prototypes lacked the muzzle device, but even the recoil was lesser than Sig-716.

Then it is a very bad compromise. You are compromising operator safety..

RIP reliability. The amount of gunk getting into the action, especially on guns without an adjustable gas system will cause failures to feed. Unless you're using OSS suppressors, which also have a large signature.

That's General Yogesh Kumar Joshi. He's a Kargil war vet who won the Vir chakra for personally capturing point 5140 along with Vikram Batra while suffering zero casualties. I'm pretty sure he's testing the recoil by hip firing it.
Vikram Batra's CO if I remember correctly. Legend of a man.

No other SMG in the world was as accurate and heavy hitting as the MP5 amongst all other SMGs. I say was because that changed with the Sig MPX which is simply superior. In our context the NSG is meant to take down and clear precise targets and structures, ie. Tons of room clearing. One of the biggest necessities with your rifle in room clearing is that it be ergonomic and easy to wield. This allows for faster target transitioning and weapon manipulation. The NSG takes this to the absolute as a necessity as opposed to countries like the US where they value modularity and versatility FAR more in their weapons. In order to counter any perceived ergonomic problems, the US uses additional CQB tactics and techniques in these situations (Which are really not that common), techniques such as short stocking where you shorten the gun's exposure by placing the buttstock OVER your shoulder until you can punch out your gun back into your shoulder again. As i said before since these problems aren't that common unless you're using long barreled rifles like the M16, even the FBI HRT uses the M4 SOPMOD mk2/Mk18 instead. These guys by the way are very highly trained and very well equipped as you will see:

The NSG however is bound to improve/tweak it's doctrine at some point thanks to it's exposure in bilateral exercises with the US and international exercises.
yup i have seen a picture with them using the high ready position.

That vertical movement due to recoil was not that much and mostly it's plausible due to the stance of those soldiers, unless you have actually served in service and have any practical knowledge at least talk with some grace rather than an arrogant dolt.

Now since NSG has started to use the Sig MPX carbine, as a replacement/supplement for MP5, there are many videos around the internet that Sig MPX failing the gauntlet test. Any small amount of water in the barrel, caused it to malfunction.

Recently, Sig has claimed to rectify this mistake and new guns (after November 2020) fixes that problem.

Now, I don't know whether NSG has tested MPX for this type of test, but if their batch of guns do have this problem, it needs to send it back to ASAP to Sig for fixing it.

What are the Indian Made AK rifles called? Are those still in consideration for the army or any police/paramilitary forces?

INDIA STOCKS UP MISSILE ARSENAL AS IT PREPARES FOR ANOTHER TENSE SUMMER IN LADAKH
New Delhi: India is in the process of stocking up its missile arsenal as the stand-off with China in eastern Ladakh continues for the eighth consecutive month and the services extensively plan for the challenges that may emerge in the summer.

According to a report published in Jane’s Defence Weekly, a noted publication on military matters, India has awarded a $200 million contract to Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defence Systems for supplying an undisclosed number of SPICE bomb-guidance kits, and between 300 and 320 Spike-Long Range Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs), besides the BNET broadband IP software defined radios, which are pitched as a system for secure communications during on-the-move tactical operations.

The equipment, the report dated 24 December states, will be delivered by early 2021. It has been procured under the emergency powers given to the armed forces by the Union defence ministry this July to procure weapons systems worth up to Rs 300 crore on an urgent basis.

A senior IAF officer said the fresh purchase of the SPICE-2000 air-to-ground missiles is an emergency procurement.

This weapon has already been integrated into the Mirage-2000 fleet and the Sukhoi-30 fighters of the IAF. The SPICE-2000 bombs, which weigh 500 kg, can also be integrated onto Jaguars and the indigenous Tejas as well, the officer added.

“The Spice 2000 bombs have proven their worth during the Balakot strikes. It will enhance the capabilities of the IAF by adding to the inventory of missiles that can hit the targets from a long range with pinpoint accuracy, which is particularly important during the ongoing conflict,” the officer added.

He, however, said the numbers ordered will still be inadequate for the approximately 250 Sukhoi-30s and the 50 Mirage-2000s that the IAF currently has.

Earlier this year, after the stand-off in Ladakh had begun, the IAF had opted for the French HAMMER air-to-ground precision-guided weapon system exclusively for its Rafale fighter jets.

HAMMER, or Highly Agile and Manoeuvrable Munition Extended Range, consists of a guidance kit and a range-extension kit fitted on a standard Mk 82 bomb of 250 kg.

Aside from this, the IAF’s inventory also has laser-guided bombs with a range of 10 to 15 km.

“Every ground-attack aircraft should have a minimum of five bomb loading, which means the aircraft should be able to carry 10 bombs per mission, and should have a minimum of 10×5 = 50 bombs,” said the IAF officer.

As for the ATGMs, the Army has been planning to place a repeat order for Spike-LR (Long Range) ATGMs as an emergency procurement since earlier this year.

The Army’s Leh-based 14 Corps had projected a requirement of around 40 Spike ATGM launchers with an undisclosed number of missiles, among other equipment.

India deployed its existing ATGMs at important heights in Ladakh during the ongoing stand-off.

A senior Army officer said that the Spike is a fourth-generation missile that has an accuracy of up to 4 km, which makes it a lethal weapon during the ongoing conflict. “Though primarily anti-tank, it can be effectively used against enemy field fortifications and bunkers,” the officer said.

Another Boost For Arsenal

The new missiles ordered will add to the Indian arsenal after another massive stocking-up exercise last year.

The Modi government ordered weaponry worth about $700 million for the Indian Air Force (IAF) from Russia last year — including close to 300 short-range air-to-air missiles, the R-73, and 400 medium-range air-to-air guided missiles, the RVV-AE, also known as the R-77, and a radar-busting missile called X-31.

These missiles are designed to arm the Russian-made MiG and Sukhoi aircraft.

The R-73’s range is 30 km. The R-77 is the Russian counterpart to the US medium-range AIM-120 AMRAAM missile.

The American missile was used by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to target Indian Su-30 MKIs on 27 February, a day after the IAF strikes on terror camps in Balakot in the wake of the 14 February Pulwama attack.
