These Ships can track from more than 2000 kms it was announced 20 days ago about K-4 test so naturally US , China will be poking around to track it through its total flight . This capability exists with US , Russia , China and France.

Thank God they didn't test the missile on 31st , I mean who announces there tests beforehand especially in an ocean front with missile tracking ships around . We know Chinese missile tracking Ships visit the Indian ocean when India tests ballistic missile atleast they should try to keep the K-4 testing secret.

You don't test missiles when this ship is around.

These ships were there to track the launch of D-5 which China did carried on 2nd feb.

We do want them to track missiles in full trajectory. They must know what we are capable of that is how deterrence works.

Or this may be the Brahmos-A the air launched version firing from the Su30MKI they had told in the past that the test will happen by March 10th ...or it may be as you said the brahmos-II version also ..Lets wait

Extended Brahmos range was 450 km and the test had to happen on Mar 10. Notam is indicating Mar 11/12.

It's most likely to be be Astra. Air launched Brahmos is a possibility but I would have expected a NOTAM slightly longer than 355 km, unless they are testing air launched Brahmos for a range of 290km.
