In Germany, Rheinmetall introduced the new KF51 Panther tank. For the first time since World War II, the tank is again called "Panther". There is little information about the tank, it is known that it has a new 130-mm cannon and a coaxial 12.7-mm machine gun. The new gun was introduced back in 2016, in response to information about the Russian Armata tank. For the first time in German tank building, the gun has a full-fledged automatic loader, where 20 shells are loaded, but after they finish, the rest must be loaded manually. On the KF51 Panther tank, you can install a remote-controlled machine gun of 7.62 mm caliber. The principle of "transparent armor" is implemented in the vehicle, the crew sees the situation around the tank with the help of screens. The tower can integrate a system for launching HERO 120 kamikaze drones and reconnaissance UAVs. The tank has passive protection and reactive protection built into the body, like the "Armata", as well as some kind of "active protection". The crew of the tank is 3 people and it is not placed in an armored capsule like the "Armata", but classically in the tower, the fourth crew member can control the drones. The weight of the KF51 Panther tank is 59 tons, the cruising range on one gas station is 500 kilometers, the price is unknown. The KF51 Panther tank has not yet been put into mass production.

Pak wants T-90 tanks, Moscow holds the key
NEW DELHI: In a signal of changing times that could potentially sour India-Russia military relations, the Pakistan army is eyeing purchase of some 360 Russian-made T-90 tanks — the Indian Army uses the same tanks, that are produced under licence at Avadi, Tamil Nadu.

In a signal of changing times that could potentially sour India-Russia military relations, the Pakistan army is eyeing purchase of some 360 Russian-made T-90 tanks — the Indian Army uses the same tanks, that are produced under licence at Avadi, Tamil Nadu.

Moscow has, so far, not given its nod and New Delhi, has of course, been using its diplomatic heft to prevent such a purchase. Sources confirmed on Sunday that Pakistan has made a request to Russia for the T-90 tanks.

In the past, Pakistan has purchased Russian helicopters Mi-35, an attack copter, and the Mi-17, a transport copter. India objected both times since it uses the same equipment — nearly 65 per cent of India’s equipment comes from Moscow. A Pakistan-Russia defence agreement was signed in 2014.

The first hint of Pakistan wanting the T-90s came when in April this year its then Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan was quoted by Russian news website Sputnik as saying, “We are interested in T-90 tanks and it is not going to be a one-time purchase but a long-term commitment.” The matter has progressed and now a serious bid is being made from Islamabad.

The former Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Lt Gen Vinod Bhatia (retd), said, “I don’t think Russia will agree to such a request and they should not.” Former Western Army Commander Lt Gen KJ Singh (retd), who was in the Armoured Corps, felt

“it would be sacrilegious of Russia to agree”.

Pakistan’s swing away from the US is evident. It has been relying more on Chinese equipment in the past decade. Gen Bhatia said “since the US is no more giving aid and the Chinese equipment given to Pakistan is not the top-end of technology, the Pakistan swing towards Russia is visible”.

It is not that Pakistan will be able to challenge India, immediately. Gen KJ Singh said, “Even if Russia gives the tank, there will be a long gestation and training period.” Reminding of the past, he added, “Pakistan army’s much superior Patton tanks were felled by the Indian ‘Centurion’ tanks in 1971. It all depends on crew training.”

The Indian estimates are that Pakistan is looking to revamp its armoured fleet by 2025. This will include at least 360 tanks procured globally (T-90 is the chosen one so far), besides producing 220 tanks with help from China.

Islamabad inducting Chinese VT-4 tanks

  • Pakistan army is also in the process of inducting Chinese VT-4 and Oplod-P tanks from Ukraine. Trials for both conducted
  • India has 67 armoured regiments — 46 tanks in each — comprising mainly T-90, T-72 and Arjun tanks. The Pakistan army has 51 regiments — that include Ukrainian, Chinese origin tanks
  • Apart from tanks, Pak army is procuring 245 150mm SP Mike-10 guns from Italy, of which it has received 120

Pakistan might go for armoured Division Protection for Korkut spaag
A nice very short range air defense mobile system. Add to that a short range missile system (with CAMM : it is my favourite) and you have a complete short range lethal system.

Kisi ka bhi nai , arjun ko develop hi abrams ko counter karne ke liye kiya gaya tha
Aap log kharid rahe the na , zia ul haq bhi usi ka demo dekh kar Islamabad laut rahe the jab Unka plane crash hogya tha.
Apne kharida nai , to indian army ne arjun ko bhi zyada nai liya .
Arjun ke development me krauss maffie Germany ne boht help liya tha , ye samajh lijiye ki leapord 2 ke earlier versions ka tech arjun me dala tha initially but main gun ka idea Britain se liya, 120 mm rifles gun lagayi jabki abrams , leapord sab me 120 mm smoothbore gun hoti hai.
Hume tanks huge amounts me chaiye, arjun ka per unit cost justify nai karta ki usko 2000 units induct ki jaay.
Future me india consult kar sakta hai. Lekin koi aur tank seedhe buy nai karega, kyu ki ye kam to India challenger 1 buy karke ya amx 40 buy karke bhi karskata tha jo ki nai hua aur nai gernail saab ki nai chalti istarf
Boht lamba procedure hota hai, general sahab apni manmani nai kar sakte

The Pakistani military's desire to buy a non-Chinese weapons system when a presumably cheaper and comparable Chinese alternative exists provides a window to guage the effectiveness of the Chinese weapon.

If Pakistan really wants the T-90 when the VT-4 has been ordered, it implies Chinese tanks are still not on the same level as Russian tanks. This can possibly be stretched to say Chinese tanks aren't yet on the same level as Indian T-90s.
