That was what I was trying to tell them but they started going patriotic and well, logic doesn't work there.
This is not patriotism, you can be patriot and can still use logic. Such behavior is example that such people are mostly very poorly educated, their IQ level is below avarage, which makes them just useless morons.

But thanks to that, they can only spread their BS on internet forums, they will never finish with success higher education levels and have opportunity to even get close to defence industry and make any decisions. Which is definetely a good thing for humanity. ;)

This is also Chinese ERA.
Those FY series ERA is Chinese, meant for Type 90-II and possibly Type 96. def.pk had this Chinese poster with details of it.

old chinese ERA tiles
And this poster is years old, supposedly this ERA is obsolete even for MBT-2000 and VT-1A according to one of them and not in service with anyone

@farhan_9909 is just dreaming.

Government of Ukraine will provide technical co-operation to Pakistan for the modernisation of Al-Khalid, the main battle tank of Pakistan Army, Oleh Shevchenko, Chargé d'affaires Embassy of Ukraine told the Business Recorder during an exclusive talk. He said a joint-assembly and subsequent up-gradation of Al Khalid has a great export potential. "We will continue co-operation in developing technology for manufacturing military hardware, first of all in shape of Al-Khalid Project," Charge d'affaires maintained.

Specs of AORAK series era

three versions are known to have been produced, mk.1, 2, 3, here is more...

Pakistan is also working in this direction.

Dr AQ Khan Research Laboratories AORAK Mk 1 Explosive Reactive Armour
Date Posted: 22-May-2003

Development / Description

The Dr AQ Khan Research Laboratories, well known for the design, development and production of missile and rocket systems, have developed the AORAK Mk 1 explosive reactive armour (ERA) system to improve the combat survivability of tanks and armoured fighting vehicles against attack from Chemical Energy (CE) projectiles.
So far, the Dr AQ Khan Research Laboratories have developed three different sizes of ERA modules to meet different user requirements.
They are known as Type A, B and C and differ only in their size. Each module consists of two thin steel plates between which the explosive is inserted. This in turn is inserted in a box which is then bolted on to the hull or turret of the vehicle.
Efforts have also been made "‹"‹to reduce the risk of accidental detonation of the ERA modules by small arms fire, shell fragments and lightning strikes as well as reducing the sympathetic detonation of surrounding ERA modules.
This armour system is claimed to have a shelf-life of 10 years and an operational temperature range of -40 to +52 º C.

Status

Development complete. Believed to be in low-rate production for the Pakistan Army for installation on Type 59, 69 and 85 series MBTs. Late in 2000, Pakistan showed the Al Khalid and Al Zarra MBTs fitted with ERA over their frontal arc. At this stage, the source of this ERA is not known. Al Khalid is now entering production for Pakistan with 315 to be built over a three year period.

Development
The Institute of Industrial Control Systems, well known for the design, development and production of missile and rocket systems, developed the AORAK Mk 1 Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA) system to improve the combat survivability of tanks and armoured fighting vehicles against attack from Chemical Energy (CE) projectiles. As far as it is known, there have been no exports of this ERA by Pakistan.China has been involved in the transfer of MBT technology to the Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) plant and this could also have included at least some ERA technology. It should be noted that some of the Institute of Industrial Control Systems products are now being marketed by Global Industrial & Defence Solutions of Pakistan.

New armour was being developed locally for AK after the start of mass production

Some more information and development history, the link dates back to 2006-07 but nice information.....................

October 1, 1988 between the PRC (the company NORINCO) and Pakistan (Heavy Industries Taxila) signed an agreement on joint development and production of the new main battle tank MBT-2000 (also known as "Type 90-II»). The program was approved by the Committee of Defense January 16, 1990, and in May was already signed the final contract. In parallel with the tests in China, Tank, "90-II» / MBT-2000 was tested in Pakistan. Manufacture of machinery was to be done at the factory F-711 company «Taxila», which until then jointly produce tanks "Type 59" , "Type 69" and "Type 85-IIM" .

first prototype promising Pakistani tank "Type 90-IIM», later received its own name "Al Khalid", was built in July 1991, and publicly demonstrated by China and Pakistan, as joint development. Virtually all of the prototypes "Al Khalid" are tanks "Type 90-II» / MBT-2000 in several different versions. After extensive testing, which began in 1992 and ended in the summer of 1998, it was decided to adopt for service option MBT "Al Khalid" the engine of Ukrainian origin 6TD-2.

In 2000, the Pakistani company «Taxila» completed the limited series production of the first pilot batch tank "Al Khalid." Only 15 cars were produced, which were sent to military units for trial operation.

Tank "Al-Khalid" ("Type 90-IIM») on trials in Pakistan

Main battle tank "Al Khalid" has some differences from the "Type 90-II» / MBT-2000. First, it has a hinged ERA in China, which gives the tank a distinctive appearance. Blocks of reactive armor on the front hull and turret projections similar to the tank, "90-II» with CLE, except the cheeks of the tower where the shelves are "corner", similar to the Russian and Ukrainian tanks. Additional blocks of reactive armor installed on the turret basket. The combat weight of the tank reaches 48 tons. It has been reported that in Pakistan the company is actively developing new armor alloys, which will later be used on the tank "Al Khalid."

The second major difference is the appearance and layout of the MTO, which established Ukrainian 6TD diesel engine and automatic transmission, summarized in a single unit. While the original project "Type 90-IIA» was supposed to use a French diesel engine «Unidiesel V» of 1500 hp, this option was dropped due to pressure from the U.S. and India on the French government (over the real reason, apparently, was the difference in the prices). Choosing to Ukrainian diesel did not unusual, since Pakistan has long cooperated with Ukraine in military terms, and previously purchased her 320 tanks T-84 with 6TD-2.

However, recently there have been reports that due to problems with its diesel forcing Ukrainians still offer Pakistan a good old 6TD, not 6TD-2,

the indigenous armour for Al khalid was developed when AARDIC was formed in 1999-2000..as the above source suggest that pakistan started development of new armour alloys to be later used in the al khalid tank.

in the development stage ukrainian help was taken..this doesnt mean they modified the ukraninian armour.though rumours are that the latest armour on Ak1 is superior to the ukrainian armour aswell on T-80ud

The FY series isn't remotely related to Aorak by Pak sources which state Aorak is modified Ukrainian or some state indigenous. FY is Chinese. What are you trying to get at here?
as i said earlier the pic is from ideas def expo 2012...

Also read the specs i posted above.they talk of similar ERA's..may be KRL manufacture them under license.

No such link ever was, besides it is impossible... Al-zarrar is just a T-55 level armor tank with cosmetic add-onn, no even ERA installed.

You have severe lack of comprehension, I meant that FY is Chinese and you keep parroting that it was in IdeasExpo 2012 and so it is Pakistani. :frusty:

I give up, you refuse to accept the truth when it stares you in the face.
