Here is some info about jags and harpoon.

Now why I'm putting it in lca thread.
Because jaguar harpoon is mated to elta 2052 and 2032 in jaguars.

That means harpoon can easily be mated with lca.

And we know lca has better radius of action then jaguar. Which means lca can too strike 1000km away from Indian coast with harpoon.

And only for air to air there won't be much difference with or without pods .
Disagree. Yes not very useful for ground-attack, but has effect in A2A. Don't we talk about how much RCS gets added to an armed compared to clean configuration jet, making Tejas’s low profile & composite body less relevant?!
So just consider it as quad-rack instead of the dual-rack. Except it also reduces extra pylon weight, net drag & RCS... Also frees up other pylons to be clean config.
I think that's a very significant difference, maybe even game-changing advantage.

These two (pretend those are weapons pods) are carrying same payload of 8 missiles each. They. Won't. Have. Same. RCS.

In such configuration rcs is already upwards 3-4 sq m. Which will be detected from modern radars at hundreds of km away.

Lca can utilize low rcs only in clean configure with minimum air to air and also utilizing cover of mountainous. In open skies lca with 6 aam or pods will be similarly visible.

Anyway if pods really can help then I'm sure ADA would work on them for mwf and lca

If any of us had anything we'd have shared it already. But sorry buddy, no clue. 3rd & 4th are apparently getting software & final touches. 5th & 6th in advanced assembly.

Published May 15, 2020 | By admin SOURCE: RAUNAK KUNDE / NEWS BEAT / IDRW.ORG State-owned HAL after lockdown has commenced its operations and production line of indigenous LCA-Tejas MK1 fighter jet was restarted but as per media reports it is not moving at the pace like before and the supply of some of the components from foreign suppliers are also hit due to Chinese virus situation. SP-21 which now has been given new tail number SP-17 will be carrying out a few more mandatory flight test before it is handed over to IAF and SP-22 (SP-18) which has completed its integration and currently has been moved to Paint workshop to get a new paint coat before it commences Low and High-speed trial before it is cleared for the first flight by the first week of June. SP-23 (SP-19) and SP-24 (SP-19) both are almost 80% and 70 % ready but are waiting for the supply of a few components that will push their first flights to July. Work on SP-25 (SP-20) is almost halted and likely to resume in June, while the assemble jig already has SP-31 (SP-26) for the integration work but the slow pace will affect the original delivery schedule. Delays in delivery of first four FOC Cerftited Tejas Mk1 will also delay the creation of the Second Squadron of the LCA-Tejas in IAF which was initially planned in April, now likely in August or September.

But you raise a good point. I don't know if its first flight has happened. Frankly I am a bit confused... Whose was the Tejas ACM Bhadauria flew in?.. It was a previously flight tested IOC?.. So do 18th have sone IOC too, or he flew in a jet of 45th Squadron?

Don't know. Can't say.
