And just like that, lads, Tejas has 50% more exports than Jf-17 (18 against 12, it'll be 200% more if we can expand the order to 36). 🎉🎊

...And it'll be a bloody shame if IN acquires SH-18 without making the Yanks take FLIT as their new naval trainer.
:lehappy: we just opened an office , probably to lobby them . best to wait until purchase is officially announced.

Irony independence day means India free from Britain
meanwhile in this picture
Air to air refueling probe: British
M.B ejection seat: British
Quartz radome: British
ASRAAM (in MK-1A): British
Independence isn't about freedom from Britain.... We were under continued assault of Muslim too before that.

Independence is this... A small beginning may be.

Did you know that Goodrich which makes ejections eats for Boeing warplanes copied the design from NPP Zvezda? Martin Baker may be good but my point remains is that since no other Indian fighter jet uses Martin Baker ejection seats, why go for Martin Baker seats as it introduces a different product and more complexity to the logistic chain? They could, the very least, copy the design from NPP Zvezda and make it their own as Boeing/Goodrich did.
We have BAE Hawks and Jaguars too.

Martin Baker is at the top without a doubt.

And Russians have introduced lots of remarkable tech in the past but western world or precisely American have been improving on it better.

For e.g. after watching Mig 29 perform they improved on F-16s and turned it into the beast it is now.

We are working on our own ejection seats but can't take chance with life of a pilot ..

I mean most of us use French American engine oils for our cars bikes etc over HP etc. And have issues with British ejection seat .. really ?

Good it will drive HAL to come up with its own ejection seats and radome in order to sell the LCA to Argentina without coming across UK prohibitions.

Already working going on indigenous replacement.

It's just a office bro... All big companies does that for marketing and taking queries. It doesn't mean the deal is done. But good to see HAL moving like a MNC.

Make it an either or deal.. you take ours or we take Rafale.
They don't care that much... Unless Tejas fits their requirements...

Even then they may be media shamed or out of racist superiority complex won't buy.

Ejection seats are extremely complex equipment requiring fail safe operation at all times. We haven't even developed a prototype and you're talking about replacing the MB one? Safest bet is to consider the American or Russian options that are proven and already in use.

Testing and qualification for ejection seats will take a LOT of time, lot of tests for which we don't have the infrastructure including the rail and tracks that simulate a high speed ejection.
