ok...so only the aerial display has been cancelled...can it be because of tech glitches? seems less likely given that there are 3 fighters, any one of which cud perform! so maybe the reasons are positive...maybe they are giving private tours to prospective buyers...nonetheless...enugh fodder for paki youtubers and Sancho to create a story bashing Tejas out of it!

Time constraint. Time allocated for flying isplay is 1 hr 15 min. Today it was almost 1hr 11min when the cancellation came. Yesterday Tejas performed for nearly 5 mins.

I already attached a parliament response in this thread. 24 Tejas has been delivered. 16 IOC and 8 FOCs. But for now I believe all Tejas are at Sulur and Bangalore.

A Lot Of People got interested looking at recent arrival of Tejas during at #SingaporeAirShow2022 with 2 x 1200lts & 1 x 800lts drop tanks,It covered +/- 3000kms nonstop without refuelers, #IndianAirforceday Config suggest this light fighter can carry more to such destinations..

I might be wrong, but 16 IOC + 16? FOC (not sure if the whole order was finished and given to the IAF) + a small fleet of pre series and test units.

PD: Im not sure about the total number of FOC delivered, ill estimate that since all were being worked on last year...they might be close to completion.

Beyond that no public information is available...

In an interview around couple of months back, HAL chief said that they're waiting for some sub-systems from Israel to arrive...
Delivery of remaining 10 FOCs depends on arrival of these sub-systems...
However, we do not know the current status...
Defence Expo may give us some new updates...

If we are talking series production, its 20 IOC and 20 FOC, 16 of each are single seaters and the remaining 4 are trainers.

2000 Km. The range is already in public forum. With Drop tank, it is 3200 km and without drop tank, it is 2000 KM. Earlier, the range was declared as 1700 km but with aerodynamic changes, the range is improved to 2000 KM. Since, it has flown 3200 km with drop tank, the actual range with Drop tank will must be atleast 10% higher. You can not fly abroad with 3200 km if the range is exact 3200 km.

SO I believe that the combat range with full weapons load too must have improved from 500km to 600km or more?

I am a proponent of upgrading all legacy fighters and light jets with AESA, BVR missiles and decent pod mounted EW. Tejas has small radar in form of 500 TRM EL/M-2052 but due to its overall utility it represents a potent option for IAF and others. India should focus all resources on taking Tejas to its full growth potential.

mk1a has around 700trm radar not 500 (source ddr)

at some point we wud like to see a high speed turning radius demonstration...its quite clear now that even the IOC fighters are being converted to FOC standards...now just integrate the Astra and test fire Brahmos NG...and we will smell bad odour from the west as the pakistani establishment wud have already started shitting themselves...which by some reports and rumours...is about to be blacklisted by FATF in the coming meeting!

if tejas mk1 is this agile imagine the agility that is going to be there with MK2 Tejas...its going to be a big sin if tejas mk2 is somehow delayed...as it is the only fighter that can help us keep the combat edge because imported MRFA will have high customisation and maintenance issues and AMCA are for specialised combat roles...only mk2 can be IAF workhorse from 2027 onwards...
yet u will always find shahid lateef types and hisminions saying thattejas is a failure, IAF has rejected it...blah blah blah....rest assured...pakistanis today are witnessing the maturity of indian aerospace industry and its speed of progress...
if we can only crack the engine technology in next 5 years...there will be no stopping us!
