So no chance for airborne radars, but ground based may be able to still track if they are of the fixed type.
imo it will depend upon how far the ew tejas is.

as the em wave will lose its energy as it will travel, so after a distance the power level will come under the umbrella of ew systems of tejas.

I think HAL is giving regular tejas, not trimmed one. Anyway, either is fine as long as the high tech stuff (jammers, missiles etc) are the trimmed version.
trimmed means less RAM coat(meaning more rcs) ,less radar power, less ecm power
these versions are not neccsessarily visible unless you operate the aircraft

Wouldn't them buying your fighters make them dependent on you and hence less likely to go bat shit crazy against you? Does it not give you more leverage?
World doesn't work that way. No mater what you do no one remains dependent on other; if you try brinkmanship no one likes you and you will never sell in future.. Not even super powers are able to do this successfully, let alone country like India.

Take Russia's example after they pressurized Germans, EU is looking to Kuwait for gas. Talks are even under way to ease sanction on Iran.
In short Russian dominance is being eroded.

So no chance for airborne radars and most ground radars, but some ground based may be able to still track if they are of the fixed type.
That is not how jamming works. Having higher power increase the distance but higher power doesn't guarantee jamming; radar can always tune-out certain frequency or signal above predetermined receive power.
In case missile has home-on jam capability they might get a better lock.

Using power to measure how capable a jammer is totally wrong. Its kind of amateurish.

All jammers try to mimic enemy radar's RF-pattern and will try to estimate appropriate signal strength with which they should jam the enemy.

Coming soon Our very own Tejas Growler.. 😊😊
Great. Trying to maximise the utility of the Tejas platform.
An LIFT version, Growler version etc.
Though originally an strategy followed by many Western arms companies, India should apply this design philosophy to almost all indigenous weapons platforms.
Already many versions of the Dornier 228 of HAL make are being planned.
The maritime Dhruv ALH helicopter tailored for naval applications is another example. But wonder why the civilian version of the Dhruv has not been promoted forcefully enough. Even an Air Ambulance version of the Dhruv was made. Don't know if any sales were done.

It increases the returns on investment and helps find new markets and uses of an existing system.

Ideally an Growler version of the LCA mk2 is desirable as it is a bigger plane and has more room for additional EW systems to be fitted. More powerful engines to provide extra electrical power.

But by trying out the Growler version of the LCA mk1a we are establishing proof of concept. Once all bugs are removed and the EW systems are validated, porting or scaling up onto the LCA mk 2 will become easier.

Since the Su30 mki is a huge plane with lots of space and powerful engines , maybe an dedicated Growler version of the aircraft can also be explored.

Anyway its nice to see that our DRDO guys are getting imaginative.

what is the o/p power of mi1a radar,- both ?
around 4kw

if someone has more accurate figure pls give

I had found it on brf

The number of TRM on the MK2 radar is dependent on the power availability on the platform and the power rating of the TRM.

GaN TRMs has higher power rating. A 20W GaN TRM, if used on MK1 Uttam would technically require only 370 odd TRM, instead of 740+. The radar will become half in size!

So a Uttam MK2 with 900 TRM ( say of 20W TRM) has almost 2.5 times the power output of MK1 Uttam! Theoretically it can handle 18KW, although I would assume in regular ops it will around 9 to 10KW.

LCA MK1 can provide around 3 to 4KW of power. Which is exactly half of 7.8KW theoretical power rating of Uttam = 780 TRM X 10W
