Large industrial buildings coming up at HAL Bengaluru. In Google maps they are labelled as 'New LCA complex'. Not sure about the authenticity. Experts of DFI can concur.

GMaps location - New LCA Complex
They even have boards setup there mentioning the same.
Both the places seem small to me honestly. But then we are not producing them like cars are we.

I live in that area, the area between Marathalli on the opposite side of Yemlur is all the new LCA complex and it isnt small at all, not sure what you are talking of ... as mentioned earlier this is the plant 2 , plant 1 being in the hangars alongside the runway... its all quite massive and grand tbh

Came across this Malaysian forum.
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5208135
My god the level of prejudice against Tejas is amazing. Started wondering if these people really Malaysians or Pakistanis. Nobody gave any real critique except for some vague "HAL poor safety record, Indian Sukhois and MiGs drop like flies", etc nonsense as well as a Pakistani response:-
  • Tejas
    • >took more than 30 years, still have problems
    • >budget overrun of 25x. not 25 percent more but 25 times more
    • >has 53 significant shortfalls including short range and could only carry around 3 ton payload (slightly more than tudm hawk)
    • >is less than 30 percent indian made even when it's touted as "indigenous made aircraft"
    • >still not achieve FOC, barely 2 squadron operational (roughly 24-30 planes)
  • JF-17
    • >50/50 JV between Pakistan and China
    • >developed in 1995, first flight in 2003, introduced in 2007
    • >Achieved FOC 10 years ago with problems pretty much sorted out
    • >Stealth (okay, more like "lo-observable) JF-17 is under development
    • >can carry 4.5 ton payload with worse engine (RD-33 vs F404 in Tejas)
    • >close to150 planes built
    • >actually has export potential

Now I really want Tejas to win just to see the meltdown in that forum.
Looks like Malaysian Defence Forum is an extension of PeeDF, literally the same level of delusion both here and there.
- JF-17, thanks to its hasty induction has crashed atleast 5 times, not a single Tejas has crashed in the last 20 years.
- Budget overrun by 25 times, LOL, so is the original program cost supposed to be $80 million.
- 53 significant shortfalls, LOL, ask them to name a single one. Also payload is 4.3 tons and has demonstrated takeoff with 3.5 tons payload from Leh airfield.
- Less than 30% Indian made, looks like Afghani weed has made its way to Malaysia.
- Someone tell that idiot its been 2 years since it got FOC

The one in Yamlur is big because its with the airport. The actual assembly line parts are not that big.
The second plant is not that big either.

Compare it with any big manufacturing unit. Check Kia's manufacturing plant.

PS: Am also around in that area... we should meet up sometime!

Most so called military forums are populated by people with poor comprehension skills and almost no real world experience in the aviation sector. They are mostly just places where people come and vomit out their biases and their prejudices. PDF is a top notch example of that..a pure cesspool.

Malaysian forums lack any real depth of knowledge or discussion and given that they're mostly Muslims, they are mostly going to equate India with Hindus which means they will be bashing anything Indian. It's all very very superficial. Can hardly expect such a forum to reflect on the RMAF which is a fairly professional air force with long held ties to the IAF.

Please don't compare any aviation assembly line for fighters, with a car assembly line. They're just totally different in terms of scale and size and philosophy. Static lines for fighters versus fast moving assembly lines for cars.

And just compare the number of parts/fully assembled cars rolling out of those lines per day with that for most fighter assembly lines.

I mean more of this overhype on jf17 and undercutting LCA Tejas is a blessing in disguise, because in next three years IAF have more than 36 plus airframes of LCA and by the end of 2027 it will be 100 of them so LCA will be the first responder in case of any airspace violation, so for our western nibghour less he know about our main stay weapons much better chance for IAF, yes am also against exporting LCA to any country unless we are able to filed mk2 in large numbers, exporting a future main stay weapon system to non stable allied government will be short vision plan even we export water down model,

There were people who proposed that the design and development agencies should not waste their time and resources on the development of a 4.5 gen fighter Tejas Mk2 and jump straight to AMCA. His tweets are in response to that.
Officials or defence exfarts?

Exfarts obviously
Officials care about neither 😂
Actually no... the previous IAF Chief himself was one of them!

He constantly kept having wet-dreams about 114 fancy-toys, while specifically saying in an interview that MWF order size will depend on how quickly AMCA is available (as if we can afford more than 100-150 of those 5th gen).

The present chief has completely ignored the existence of mk2 project?
