But here major Question is

"Months ago we heard 4 jets in final stages, but only 1 was handed over as a symbolic gesture for squadron raising (& aerial gun-firing trials)... Since then all HAL assembly lines are fully operating & after that centreline pylon clearance trial I thought now delivery will resume."

When will next Tejas will be delivered? Where are other 3 and what was actual time frame?

Guys ....is it possible to add a bulge like structure....as mig29upg....has...this will add more fuel with Tejas...
Russians has done this with mig29 upg......we can do this with Tejas mk1 too..
If we will able to Add 1200 ltr of oil.. atleast...it will be enough for a fighter like Tejas .
Russian says the range improved 40% in internal fuel only ...with mig29 upg....,though a new improved engine also there ..

Couldn't find a thing.

Only 1 FOC delivered, that too probably for guns trials... its pair & another duo should have been ready months ago. My guess is they're gathering dust at tarmac. Next 4 should have replaced them in jigs since then & been completed by now.

But instead they did a certification & a trial on LSPs (new tanks & centreline pylon respectively) & are apparently giving Python-5 integration another try.

Possible but only at MLU. They won't make any alterations in Mark1A that needs further trials & testing.

The cheesy cringe narration may hurt the ears a bit, but otherwise preety decent camera-work.

Actually the me d others may have been wrong. I haven't ever seen Tejas doing this sharp max rate turn!
Listen the commentary from 22sec to 25 sec. He clearly says 8t load with 9t thrust.

Bdw they won't do anything till iaf asks them to try....
No news on foc delivery...2 of our source s
Indranil sir is out of touch
And hvtiaf is suffering with corona
Ok one of the lsp with Ada is being ready for gun trial ...not the foc aircraft
Centerline drop tank cleared for all ioc aircraft s too
Also tandem Pylon can be used with ioc aircraft s....
All tests are being done with lsps available with hal and Ada...
Once new things cleared with lsps...will be cleared with production variant s
I can confirm from my side that that a supersonic Pylon is in development
And some modifications are being done with lsp8
And the supersonic drop tank is not cleared yet.

Means GE 404 can produce 9t wet thrust which is quite more than earlier known 8.4t.
Don't look too much into it. Probably just quoted the official value of 8.9t... Installed thrust is about 85kN, I'd confirmed from HVT.

In which case I think they're waiting for the gun-trials to happen, before resuming delivery of further FOC jets in fully operational config.

That's the most probable explanation.

By looking at current progress I wonder why these things were not done before?

Maybe ignored as minor checkbox... I now think it's the gun aerial firing. They mounted an uncertified gun to the SP-17 but if the firing trial isn't successful, that'll mean they'll have to bring it back & redo it.
That'll be a problem for half a dozen jets.

I don't have the link but someone told on another forum that there is plan to reduce some weight in Mk1A by removing or readjusting the balast and cables. Some aerodynamic improvements were also planned by some canopy refinements. But again I don't have any link to prove my claims.
Whole mk1a idea is based on weight reduction by 800 kg around and AESA radar etc.

How much they will be able to shelve is something only HAL knows.

Does anyone on good authority have any idea if the LCA control laws for fly by wire are modular or not? If the control laws are independently configurable, we might be able to re-use them for Mk2, ORCA, TedBF, AMCA, AURA and unmanned wingmans without having to build from scratch and reduce the development time.
Tejas fbw was tested on American F16 before Tejas ,
So they may do it on other jets too according to my opinion .

The delays are insane and ridiculous.
We have modest light fighter and can't product and induct 8 machines a year

China is conducting 50 new fighters a year each one more advanced than tejas.

Even Pakistan will get 12 thunders per annum

It's a joke programme

Guaranteed we do t get to 40 mark 1 until beginning of 2024 march

Guaranteed mark 1a will.start late 2024 and take us until 2032 ie 8 years to induct 80 planes.

Snails pace

Apparently they're still supposed to be delivered by mid-2021. Manufacturing is not halted & assembly line opened back in July, they're just not being handed over to IAF for some reason. That's what everyone is speculating.

This is SP-22 completed in fucking March, still not handed over. Only SP-21 was handed to 18th Sq. in May... already SP-23 & 24 were equipping stage of manufacturing then & supposed to fly by June.
Both in screengrab from Tarmac talking, filmed in February!

Atleast 6 have been manufactured till now.

There is no point of holding production of an aircraft which has already approved for Production, just for Gun trials or any trials. All trials will be held on LSP.
The only reason for not flying new Tejas would be, Covid-19 Pandemic. HAL outsources Thousands of parts from tier 2 and tier 3 suppliers which is situated in different parts of county and planet and some parts of country/planet are still under lock down due to different rules made by states. People are avoiding to go offices and also getting salary cuts so HAL is not getting these parts on time. Some countries has declared holidays/work from home till 2021 thats why manufacturing sector is plummeting all over the world
But slowly lock down is easing and things start moving.
We are becoming restless due to China- India face off but others/Private sectors dont share same urgency.
