Yeah, not really... American F-104 & F-4 both held their own. Just readjusted their tactics. Mig-21 was not the fast, nimble interceptor to be made.

I have read many of their stories in fact many american f4 pilots had to either flee or drop their payload to engage in a dogfight with the migs although they always had the numerical and logistical advantage over the poor vietnamese

That tends to happen every now & then... If a Mirage3 manages to get past the escort, a Rafale with bomb-load will have to ditch the ordnance to dogfight or turn away & run. Mig-21 is a good interceptor. It is fast enough to reach the strike package by bypassing the fighters.

Not the same as "destroyed the myth of American air superiority". Vietnamese contested the air, like Pakis did in '71, but American dominance was near absolute. @piKacHHu explained well.

We can use emergency war time powers to sign and get things done. All the govt needs is the mindset to sign. It's not like if the integrations fail..this deal will fall through. If it's 100% guaranteed that it will be signed.. you may as well sign it and do whatever things you have to do parallely.

war production times are generally much faster. Someone must have said the same thing in 2015 saying it will be late. If only those guys said and did otherwise that time... now we would not be.........................

Well the mk1a didn't even had it's first flight till date so it's not probable

Don't why I strongly feel when all our assets are mostly china centric.......
I belive Tejas is sitting there some where near eastern forward base
It's almost 3 years ....of the squadron formation
