TUI, one of the world's leading tourism groups, has selected the Embraer E195-E2 to integrate its fleet in Belgium. TUI will receive three AerCap E195-E2 jets under a long-term lease. The aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, will be delivered in a 136-seat single-class configuration in the first half of 2023.
The E195-E2 is the quietest and most efficient aircraft in its class, with up to 150 seats. “We are delighted to add the E195-E2 to our fleet in Belgium. The aircraft is the most efficient on the market on short and medium-haul routes, using less fuel and emitting less CO2, with a longer range.
In addition, the E2 is 50% quieter compared to other aircraft in its category. The aircraft will have their hub in Antwerp, from where they will fly to more distant airports, opening up new possibilities of destinations for our passengers”, said Marco Ciomperlik, CAO (Chief Airline Officer) of the TUI Group.
“The choice of the E195-E2 is an important milestone for TUI. It is another step towards making the company's fleet even more efficient and achieving our sustainability goals. Working together with AerCap, Embraer and Pratt & Whitney, we have an attractive set of services that allows TUI to offer travelers from Belgium an even better start to their travels from regional airports,” added Tom Chandler, Managing Director of Fleet and Asset Management of the TUI Group.
“We are delighted to announce the operation of three E195-E2s with TUI. AerCap has a long-standing relationship with the airline and we are excited to be a part of the fleet renewal plan,” said Peter Anderson, Commercial Director at AerCap. “The E195-E2s are perfect aircraft to support TUI's operations as they offer more versatility, efficiency and sustainability in operations.
