Nothing grow in isolation neither technology nor industry or product. Politician and research agency do work as par country needs and Armed forces give requirement according to country capability in technological field. Markva Tank was a joke when it was first inducted by Israel Almost everything was imported and still lots of loophole but Israeli Army had foresight and believed in it by keep on adding new capability as well as local technology. On the other hand, IA want Arjun in hooks of trials so neither DRDO scrap the program nor start a new program for future requirements . IA neither abandon the project nor accept Arjun They are just keeping it in hook.
Galil rifle is a copy of AK-47 same as INSAS except 5.56 caliber which is given by IA. IA has never given clear requirement when its come to Gun just to keep DRDO in hook. ( single barrel. double barrel. interchangeable barrel 5.56, 6.9, 7.2, a total mess ).
IA gave GSQR for 100mm mortar which was impossible to fulfill ( specially made to ensure failure of Indigenous project ) everybody knows this from start that this project is going nowhere but it took Israeli to say it is impossible to build then after IA realized.
IA keep on insisting upon TATRA truck due to kick back money. They never rope in TATA or Ashok leyland despite of their repetitive request.
China's j-20 get IOC in 2017 ( one can say questionable) immediately they started serial production despite of jet is not a complete product and still built 50 jets by 2020 But same you can not see for LCA ( FOC in 2019), LCH ( IOC 2017 ), NAG ( zillions of successful trials) , Astra (completed trials 2017), Arjun, ATAGs, Dhanush, MSMC (few orders), AEW&CS ( 3rd not inducted, no follow on orders ), Killing own HTT-40 program.
In any foreign deal Armed force actively try to bypass Indian defense industry just to make sure that we should left deprived for technology and keep importing same junk for generation to come.

If Armed force keep on behaving like this then even in next 100 years despite of all technological advancement, our armed forces will remain beggar. They simply don't want to put their shoes in mud and keep lecturing like Megalomaniac
This thread wasn't meant for army or af bashing.

Plus Army didn't fcuked up INSAS it was the OFB. Since you don't fight war in the border you didn't faced your jammed rifle in front of a terrorist with his ak 47 you won't know.

Phone perfume sab videshi chahiye but when it comes to armed forces why ?

In Israel you are accountable for your deeds here OFB isn't accountable for anything. Their employees get paid get bonus produce substandard stuff and it is the jawan who had to bear with the shoddy job of OFB. J 20 have been undergoing tests since a decade while Hal trainers failed in air, costed life of pilots. Since your family isn't involved in such accident you can pass judgements.

Brilliant observation but only thing i am not understanding, should I cry or laugh?? Crying for, as we keep on begging for years to come for these laughable/silly reasons like, fcuked by OFB, its jammed/cracked, HAL trainer crashed. such mishaps never happens with imported maal.

AMCA is a better design overall, will take time but will give IAF access to cutting-edge technologies/combat innovations.
Well yeah, AMCA does share some design elements with YF-23 and if rumors are to be believed, YF-23 was a much better aircraft than the F-22. Fingers crossed.

Well India was going with yf-23 type design, but changed it,now it's more like f35 with dsi configuration absent in KAI KF-X!
I wish they went with yf-23,better aircraft in stealth!

It's better to go with proven design plus it should also be easily optimised for naval role.

Yf-23 was better fighter jet than yf-22 and also met USAF's requirement but by lobbying and marketing lockheed martin stealed the deal.
You aren't wrong about proven part though

Nop ! It was just a plan until the North Koreans provocation somewhere in the year 2008 or 2010, its about the same time we started working on the designs.
The KF-X advanced multirole jet fighter project, intended to produce modern warplanes to replace South Korea's aging F-4D/E Phantom II and F-5E/F Tiger II aircraft, was first announced in March 2001 by South Korean President Kim Dae-jung at a graduation ceremony of the Korea Air Force Academy.[6] Research and development (R&D) requirements were determined by the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2002.[7

From the same article:-

The development phase had numerous delays and postponements and its economic cost was debated, but the project received renewed interest following a 2008 feasibility study and attacks by North Korea in 2010
