So our Media releases 6 Pilots names out of 7 and even gives all the details where they reside, what their family does.

By the way one of the pilots was an NDA topper, youngest one and the French Looking Pilot is Squadron Leader who has flown all fighter jets in our inventory.

Deal was announced in 2015 April, We received the Jets in 2020. Note this an Emergency Purchase to stop our falling squadron, Even this deal took 5 years. Even negotiations for the deal took for 17 Months?
Emergency or not, remember, the production capacity of Rafales by Dassault was only 11 per year till 2018-19. They had earlier contracts to fulfill too like for Egypt and Qatar. Full production for India specific Rafales commenced only around 2019-2020. However they have started ramping up production to about 20 Rafales per year due to the huge backlog.

New aircraft are not available off the shelf. They are manufactured only according to requirements Some even mentioned an emergency purchase of Mig-35s etc. However, even a sqn of these aircraft would have taken the better part of 2 to 3 years to be inducted into the IAF.

This is a pic of a Rafale pilot using the strap-on Fighter Sphere tablet. This is a fully automatic integrated Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) that greatly reduces pilot workload dealing with important preflight and inflight management tasks like optimizing the exchange of information, enabling pilots to access the latest operational data straight from the cockpit and providing real time weather information improving routing decisions as well as numerous other types of info.

what a promotion.

In Pakistani circles the general consensus is that the Rafale and Indian pilots are no threat because many Pakistanis (at least on-line) believe it will take 5-10 years for Indian and their squadrons to ‘master’ the aircraft.

With that said the pilots being trained on the Rafale are already experienced pilots familiar with everything from India’s ROE to weapons tactics. The fact that Indian Rafale pilots were/are trained by experienced French Rafale pilots significantly accelerated the learning curve with Indian pilots being briefed on the Rafale’s strengths and weaknesses, combat effectiveness and tactics that perhaps took French pilots years to identify and master.

What makes the Rafale India’s most deadly aircraft is the fact that both Pakistan and China have zero clue about the aircraft. It is very alien to the region with India’s enemies never having an opportunity to even know how the aircraft looks on radar, how it’s radar emissions look, or how it performs. Remember Pakistanis are familiar with the basic maneuvers of the Flanker thanks to China. The Meteor and India’s new AWACS along with the upgrades to the MKI have given India at least a decade or more advantage over its region al enemies. Let’s see if India can adequately integrate everything and rewrite the ROE, something it done poorly against Pakistan.

By that logic the Mirage III of the PAF is the biggest threat for us because they have been mastering it for 50+ years !

One retired Maj. Gen. S.P. Sinha is saying in a news channel that 2 Su30 Mkis are needed to win dogfight against F16 and 2 F16s are needed to tackle a Rafale ! Seriously !? :rofl:ये लोग मुझे पागल बना के ही छोड़ेंगे !!
Please do not ever listen to such super specialists... if you really want to know the professional viwes, watch Nitin Gokhale on Stratnews global who selects the real professional and who give their considered views..
Otherwise, those who appear on TV . some of them are outrightly uneducated..some are outrightly bought and some outrightly political..

If those are some experts then I would prefer to bang my TV.. then bang the wall.. and then run away... I had jotted down a few names but then some better sense prevailed.. :yo::yo:

However, I do not mind praising some of them like Gen Hood. Gen Sharma, Gen Devraj Anbu. Gen Gurinder Singh, Gen Bakshi, etc... gen must know what not to speak before he opens his mouth.. I also abhor any former Chief speaking casually.. especially Gen Kapoor and Vikram Singh..

I am not at all surprised at the joy and celebrations of the people of India who many generations of the government kept thirsty and hungry for a sight or news of any good defense equipment.

Many old people are stuck with the memories of Gnats... some with the Rcl Gun of CHM Abdul Hamid and yet some with our old vijayant...

Sucessive governments. MoD joint specially DRDO and OFB made sure that there was always bad news. or no news at all.. no gun, no tank, no aircraft, not even rifles, perennial shortage of ammunition and reducing soldiers to the status of peons.. Nothing good to write home about...

Post 1971 the ruling elites of India made it sure that Indian Forces were never again able to wage a war and become heroes. Kargil operations is testimony of it. Little equipment or platforms that were bought were primarily bought for kickbacks.... everything was kickbacks... even that Tatra truck..

Keeping that in mind the enthusiasm shown by the common man in India about Rafael was a natural reaction as proverbial "Doobate Ko Tinake Ka Sahara".... MoD and Congress responsible for keeping the nation impoverished and thirsty would never understand it.. May be many of them are mourning their loss of commission.. Many Arms lobbyists are running their SM shows to run down the event which has become a national show..

I cry for DRDO and OFB and DPSUs who have lost many such moments and events lined up their way.. they still think Prithvi and Agni is the final solution to prevent Army Coups in India.. and demilitarise the nation..

But the MoD. DPSUs. OFB and DRDO combining under MoD indeed have so far succeeded in defanging the Armed Forces... and keeping them unarmed.. whatever was left, MEA intervened to tie their hand behind their back..

Just wait and watch even that Sig Saur Assault Rifles will be celebrated by the soldiers when the complete quantity is delivered.. ..

So it is actaully happening... India is not prepared to live anything to chances..
35000 more troops for Ladakh means two more divisions... so let it begin... I hope adequate numbers of CAPF battalions are on their way to LAC..
