There is a lobby among retired veterans which constantly oppose anything the PM does. They hate Gen rawat for same reason, since, he was a Modi appointee superseding a couple of other people.

The same lobby during the Uri incident , said, that army cant tackle every single terror incident. Result -: Surgical strikes.
There are sections of the lobby which have shared al-Jazeera fake videos which have been proven to be from Muzaffarabad(POK) after 370 is lifted.
The same people even campaigned against Modi in every election.
They are the same remnants who still try to keep the OROP issue boiling when 99% of armed forces are happy with PMO decisions on this.
In fact, the same group also, refused to protest against ATS putting Colonel Purohit in Jail , by refusing to tell that He was working for Military intelligence in infiltirating Terror groups in India.

This list continues..In fact some of them are also part of the import lobby..

These are the same people who have lost power after the Manmohan regime. They used to have a lot of leverage in those days...

These are the ones who hate General BS Rawat. There are other reasons which I wont disclose here since, it goes against spirit of the army.

There is no harm in naming and shaming them - The Chandigarh Lobby - a congression of some politicians, journalist, arms lobby and a veteran lobby trying to scavenge on politics. It is the same lobby that tried to make life of VK Singh miserable. The same lobby which got some veterans manhandled, then went to Bangalore to canvass for Rafool Gandhi, write some articles and papers and blurt over TV shows. Some of them never ever crossed Banihal speak the loudest.

They are centered around one Sainik School group and a geographical area and community specific headed by one CM of a state and a few retired generals. They wielded so much influence that clerks of one community ruled the roost in AHQ and partly at MoD including civilian staff. They still rule the roost at all Haryana and Punjab ex servicemen establishments such as ECHS and CSD Canteens. They enjoy all the advantages of being near power center and even "make" or break generals by adopting all means possible.

This trend needs to be put paid to or they will spoil the entire fabric of Indian Armed Forces.

They spread misinformation and rumours. Service rations was an issue dealt with by Pay Commission but they will blame Gen Rawat for it. Then the issue of Disability is required to be dealt with heavily when every retiring general of even logistics and Services general is disabled due to sitting on chair at the time of retirement. That is live wire and had to give someone in the sensible system a shock. All all organisations have some sensible heads.

Some people in all the organisation are always unhappy and nothing can be done about them. They want RR Hospital in Delhi to treat every old woman of their village as being their mother so that the genuine case do not get a bed.

I respect doc as a opposite side of spectrum person but sometimes i do think he is not genuine.

Case in point : He told me if BJP remove 370 and 35A then he will have nothing against BJP and he will praise them.

After BJP did it he continues to question every thing they do besides pointing out the benefit he just make a point of how it can be failed.

Being a pessimist can be personal trait but i never saw him questioning the Congress , i know he liked the Shiv Sena when they were against BJP but now that is gone too. Sometime you may occur to me a anti-establishment person which is a 101 communist.

He is pertinent towards BJP but somehow ending up against nation. This sound familiar to a national level political party of India. I am sorry to say you sometime disappoint me @vsdoc but oh well mother India have all type of childrens in her belly. Lets agree to disagree.

I have seen this with one more poster at the paki forum. Not sure if I recall his handle, something like Joe Shearer or something. Same mentality. They find acceptance of their views more with the pakis than with us and hence enjoy staying there.
I only see contempt when they deal with us. Well likewise from my side.

And there are many veterans cribbing also about this CDS post now as per them it's most probably Gen Bipin Rawat who is going to become the First CDS and they don't like him and they feel he is undeserved COAS and govt chamcha . .

A man on a post like CDS has to be in sync with govt of the day. You call that chamcha......
A man who can not do that has no business to be around. Being a rebel is not always being right or being practical or being anywhere near a good leader.

Veteran community like the serving one has no business commenting on it because both are "interested parties" not capable of unprejudiced opinions. The major and successful powers in the world are not fools to spend millions on outsiders, think tanks and policy research bodies to render their advise on specialist subjects.

It is only India where IAS makes rules for IAS and Service brass are allowed leeway to make policies for their folks and themselves.

A person who has not made it to even a colonet sitting in his room casting aspirations on a General because he does not belong to his community is fauckall opinion. His opinion is a dust bin.

If you have not seen so much hatred for a genera in your lifetime then that means the General is doing a good job. He is a general to do a job and not make you happy.

I am sure you do not wish him to contest an election from your home town. So why should he be popular with you?

I am still very much a hardcore sainik. What gave you the impression anything had changed there?

I do not mix my local and regional politics and personal loyalties with national ones.

Life is never black and white. Or binary.

That is the burden for simple minds.

And the Indian education system.

Tech heavy. Zero exposure.

I see hundreds of kids like this being churned out by xyz colleges all over.

It's the price we pay for uplifting a huge chunk of small town and rural India quickly to the industrial age, minus the basic school foundation.

He’s CoAS, superseding two other officers. The fact that there are people who wouldn’t be very happy is an understatement. While I don’t know exactly what you are referring to, gossip is just that, unless openly substantiated. Innuendo of the type that ”I know something but can’t / won’t tell...”is not very useful and shouldn’t be tossed in there. He’s been vetted by IB and that’s where we must leave it until anything specific pops up.

I appreciate that.

Not much of a charge, that. These kind of opinions come from those who want him to do what exactly? Oppose the government? Simply because they didn’t like how people of India chose? You could make this charge of a lot of people and as far as I can see, that’s just an opinion. We have had all sorts of Generals and many things have been said about quite a few of them. Unless there are serious legal charges, I’m inclined not be be bothered. He’s running an army, not an NGO.
