The DRDO is getting set to conduct a crucial trial of sub- marine launched ballistic missile (SLBM) B-05, earlier known as K-15, from an underwater platform off the Visakhapatnam coast soon. The test would pave the way for its first ever test from a nuclear powered submarine later this year. A reliable source at the Chandipur test range told this paper that the nuke-capable missile is likely to be test-fired from a pontoon (replica of a submarine) nearly 20 metre under sea off the Vizag coast on March 10. Though earlier it was scheduled to be test-fired from the indigenously built nuclear powered submarine INS Arihant, the latter is yet to be readied for live trials. Sea trials of the submarine have not been started yet even though it went critical on August 10 last year.
This submarine is a part of the country's Advanced Technology Vessel (ATV) programme. India is the fifth country to have this technology after the US, Russia, France and China. It has to complete at least two to three trials before the deployment. Four more submarines of this class have been planned.
B-05 is the world's best weapon in this class. Flying at hypersonic speed, the missile cannot be spotted until it is virtually upon the target. It engages in a series of terminal manoeuvres designed to defeat enemy missiles.

DRDO scientists in presence of the Navy officials will conduct the test from a submerged pontoon as the Arihant submarine has not been fully 'operational'. Radars, telemetry systems and other tracking equipment have been dispatched to various locations to track the missile properly.
The indigenously developed B-05 missile having a strike range of around 750 km is 10 metres in length and one metre in diameter. Its launch weight is about 10 tonnes.

After a powerful gas generator ejected it from the pontoon submerged in the Bay of Bengal, the K-4 missile rose into the air, took a turn towards the designated target, sped across 3,000 km in the sky and dropped into the Indian Ocean. What has made the DRDO missile technologists happy is that the mission was successful in K-4's maiden flight. The two-stage missile will carry nuclear warheads, forming the lethal payload of India's nuclear-powered submarines, which are under construction.
"It was an excellent flight on March 24. The K-4 missile travelled a little more than 3,000 km," informed sources said. "We will do many more missions to prove the missile's sub-systems and increase their reliability."

The sources described K-4 as "the proud successor" of the K-15 underwater-launched missile, codenamed B-05. Nearly 10 development trials of K-15 missile have already been completed from pontoons submerged in the Bay of Bengal over the past few years.

Thats the same video as the k 15 test .
K 4 has not been launched from a submerged platform yet.

Well I didn't read then .. According to those reports the K4 was launched from an undersea platform ..
But they went with a submerged test at the first attempt.... that is strange. ..

There are so "K"s with different numbers,range, launch platforms and test launches, that i'm getting all kanphuzzd ! now.

Shaurya/ K15 Sagarika . Very few persons knows about its true capability despite many people (especially Chinese) being ignorant for its 700km range. It has a composite BGRV warhead (Ballistic Glide Re-entry Vehicle) and not a regular dumb RV.

Same missile, but there are still some differences between the land version Shaurya and the sea version Sagarika.
