@Dazzler

Okay, so assembly of Block 2 has begun now. I thought it started quite some time ago.

This IFR is not same as shown here.

So JF 17 will not have retractable IFR as shown in second pic.

one more interesting observation, their IFR is too close to glass canopy.

Here the same on LCA

and on Jaguar

if the basket which put fuel in IFR shakes then it will hit glass canopy in JF 17.
its not fragile as it looks, the angle looks closer to the cockpit, to reduce RCS, but an IFR rarely does that.

You are correct it is a cosmetic arrangement prone with danger for the pilot and aircraft,

In tejas and Jag it is very far away from the pilot's face, but it is so close to pilot and the glass canopy in JF-17,

Refueling would be a very dangerous job,

Basket which will refuel will hit canopy if moved slightly to right. Plus not very good idea to have fuel coming close to engine in flight.
Ofcourse PAF is class apart. So they can manage.

The JF-17 you quoted as 1296 km/h is the top speed at sea level(for tejas it is 1350 km per hour),

The tejas top speed quoted as 1920 km/h is at 50000 ft, i.e at ceiling altitude.

Jf-17 too will have similar top speeds, mach 1.6 as per some reports.

For tejas it is also mach 1.6 now post IOC-2(some report pegs this top speed as mach 1.4 ), old HAL web page said that it's design top speed at 5000o ft(altitude ceiling) is mach 1.8.

So if this mach 1.8 mach is achieved at FOC , tejas may have better topspeeds, but not by any significant measure,

The difference is nothing much in terms of their capabilities in combat.
