What the flick is jf17A???? Block 1???
I will explain to you. You see the JF-17 Thunder comes in several blocks. They are :
  • 1)JF-17 block 1
  • 2)JF-17 block 2
  • 3)JF-17 block 3
And further each block has a "A" and a "B" version of it which means-
  • 1)A=Single seater Variant.
  • 2)B=Twin Seater Variant.
Is this suppose to mean something?:confused1::confused1::confused1:
Yes it obviously Supposed to mean something. Like what do you want to know here?

They might replace or compliment the SD-10s, might make the JF-17 a bit more suited for interception.
If you are Talking about the PL-15E(145 kms range) Completely replacing the SD-10s in service with Pakistan than the answer is no.
~
SD-10s will stay for quite some time here. Pakistan will continue using them.
~
SD-10s have a lot of shelf life left with them and are pretty Advanced as well. Not as Advanced as AIM-120C5 but pretty good.
--------------
So the Conclusion is that Pakistan is buying these PL-15E to Complement the SD-10s.

Myanmar's JF-17 armed with the CM-400AKG anti-ship missile. When you talk about "force multiplier l" it doesn't get better than this. The JF-17 is the only platform that accords Nigeria the option of an anti-ship missile capability.

0:01-0:03- You can see the SD-10s with their Blankings being carried in a Missile Tray
~
0:06- 0:12- You can see the JF 17 pilots holding a model of the JF 17.
~
0:22-0:40- See how the Myanmar Airforce is loading SD-10s and CM-400AKG on to the JF 17 {1st time I have personally seen this being done}

JF-17 all glass cockpit. The largest display are three 8-inch by 8-inch tactical screen that provides information tracking and threat identification. Two smaller screens also provide communication, identification, navigation and flight information.

Iraq’s Defence Minister interview with local arab media: Iraq was looking to procure Aircraft from Pakistan for conducting anti-drone Ops. He did not mention the type but confirms that there is an initial order of aircraft from Pakistan. currently exports JF17 and Super Mushak
{Is this true? That Iraq is going to Purchase JF-17s?}

I saw an anti-ship missile and a fighter jet separately.
Didn't see the ASM attached to the pylon, didn't see the fighter jet firing/launching that ASM missile.

No idea mate.
I don't want IQ to get into barter of F16 with JF17 with Pakistan. Although chances of that (barter) is remote.
No problem. I heard that Pakistan wanted to exchange JF 17 for Iraq's F-16? There were reports that Pakistan had made an offer to Iraq that for every F-16 that Iraq gives them, Pakistan will give them 2 JF-17 Thunders.

I don't know how true it is though.

Esteemed fellow members do anybody knows what are the pakistani components in jf17 other than the toilet hinges
The truth is that Pakistan doesn’t have the infrastructure to make JF-17 from scratch nor the funds.

It is extremely in debt. Pakistan is very much aware of this. Some parts may be made in Pakistan, but majority of everything is supplied by China.

JF 17 was a joint venture between Pakistan and China. PAC is trying to localize the JF 17 like in house project for AESA radar development HUD development etc. I don't know how far have PAC succeeded in this Matter though. Even I don't know how Pakistani is JF 17.

Except for the Paint, Canopy Hinges and maybe a Couple of Electronics ,everything else is Chinese in JF 17 Thunder.

Even now the main body for the JF17 comes from China. I am pretty surprised PAC couldn't even indigenize them or China wants to keep a share of the pie, we don't know. At least air frame Pakistan should.be doing 100% of the work.

Their contribution would be wiring, some common replacable parts, integration and testing finally assembled product. They don't even have access for integration for their own weapons by themselves. Even their air launched missile is carri d by Mirage 3.

Jokes apart ignore if already discussed even the number of hinges are not the same across the fleet, one can see in the above images that some of them have 3 and some 5 hinges. 105 JF 17 single seat and 15 JF 17B 2 seaters, some say 40% of the fleet is completely grounded, there have been a few crashes 5-7 , has analog FBW, yet to complete a loop, show BVR missile firing or LBG or video bombs, 40% grounded rest will have 75% uptime. PAF must be banking that Block 3 shows improvement in some of these shortcomings. Also there has been no video or aerial refueling and IL 78 are being used by PAF to fly F16 parts from the US .

The air cooled AESA radar is a poor option, compared to liquid cooled AESA radars and this will definitely have much poorer performance at peak power and higher altitudes than comparable liquid cooled AESA radars.

Pakis had the option of choosing between one air cooled option (KLJ-7A) and another LETRI(NE) air cooled option and opted for the former as well as a liquid cooled option of KLJ-7A but apparently upgradability of Block 2 JF-17s was the big factor that led them to choose the air cooled option. Good for us.

Pakistan selects KLJ-7A air cooled AESA radar for JF-17 Blck 3

JF 17 was made in Mind keeping Requirements of PAF for a cheap and Low cost Fighter which would help Complement their F-16s. Also It was developed keeping Export in Mind to small countries. JF 17 has done that. The truth is that China is probably benifiting more from This Programme.

In India we are Making SU-30 MKI Under license and our SU-30 MKI are having 65+% percentage of Indian Components. Yes that's the Truth Which means our SU-30 MKI is more Indigenous than JF 17 is Pakistani.

By the way here are those pictures of JF 17 body being brought from China to Pakistan.

Chinese are shrewd. Why will they promote/develop a competitor to their manufacturing base.
Chinese also know that Pakistanis will backstab Chinese when it will be in Pakistan's interest.
Chinese also know that all it will take for USA is to throw some money on Pakistan's face for Pakistan to backstab China.

Nah. Pakistan isn't a competitor in any sense to China. Hell even India isn't with her comparable population. China keeps milking Pakistan for her own benefit. That's the reason why it still manufactures 58% of the aircraft that it hasn't inducted. It's beyond Pakistanis to backstab Chinese for the next 100 years. Reason being they are worshippers waiting for their next Messiah to save them. Standing independent is not their post -47 mindset.
