Not at all.The government financial year is from april to march.So far till jan, 3 launches have taken places.The fourth one is tomorrow and the 5th one will take place in February and the 6th one which is the GSLV MK3 will take place in March end- April beginning.

After GSLV launch, PSLV C24 with IRNSS-1B likely in March
CHENNAI: Even as ISRO is gearing up for the launch of GSLV D5 from Sriharikota tomorrow, preparations are on for launch of the PSLV C24 carrying IRNSS-1B, which is likely in March. "The integration process of the satellite IRNSS-1B with launch vehicle PSLV C24 was started on December 27. The launch is most likely in March," a senior ISRO official told PTI. Since the integration is expected to take around 60 days, the vehicle would be ready by February end and the likely launch would be in March, he said. "Right now, we decided to stop the integration of IRNSS-1B with PSLV C24 for three days due to the scheduled launch of GSLV D5 with GSAT-14 tomorrow," he said. IRNSS-1B is the second satellite in the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) and is one of the seven satellites constituting the IRNSS space segment. IRNSS-1A was successfully launch on board PSLV C22 on July 1 last year. The applications of IRNSS include terrestrial, aerial and marine navigation, disaster management, vehicle tracking and fleet management, integration with mobile phones, precise timing, mapping and geodetic data capture, terrestrial navigation aid for hikers and travellers and visual and voice navigation for drivers.

ISRO in initial stage of talks with ISS for
scientific experiments
Sriharikota (AP), Jan 5 (PTI) ISRO is in the "initial stages" of talks with the International Space Station (ISS) to conduct scientific experiments with specific focus on climate related areas, its chairman K Radhakrishnan said. "India is not a partner for now in the International Space Station. We are in the initial stages of discussion on whether we could do something on climate-related earth observation system experiments. Initial discussions are on," he told reporters here.

India's 23rd geostationary communication satellite, Gsat-14, entered its orbital home at 8am on Thursday. The third orbit-raising manoeuvre was successfully executed with a 172-second firing from Isro's Master Control Facility at Hasan in Karnataka. With this, the spacecraft's nearest point to the earth, or perigee, is 35,462km and the farthest, or apogee, is 35,741km. After it entered its final orbital home, the cuboid-shaped spacecraft's east antenna was deployed at 9.18am and the west antenna at 11.30am An Isro official told TOI that the testing of the payloads would be initiated in the next few days, before the spacecraft becomes operational towards the end of January or beginning of February. The 12 communication transponders are expected to further augment the capacity in the Insat/Gsat system. The primary role of Gsat-14 will be in the areas of tele-education and tele-medicine

Isro to send orbiter, lander and rover to Moon by 2016
The Indian Space Research Organization (Isro) is planning to launch India's mission to the moon, Chandrayaan-2, by 2016, which would include an orbiter, lander and rover, an Isro spokesperson said on Friday. Earlier, Isro chairman K. Radhakrishnan had said that the space agency will launch Chandrayaan-2 by 2016-17, according to Press Trust of India. "Isro aims to demonstrate its capability to soft-land on the lunar surface with this mission," said the Isro spokesperson. The broad objectives of the mission would include the extension of scientific experiments carried out by Chandrayaan-1, India's first mission to the moon which included a lunar orbiter and impacter. Scientists had last year announced that using data from instruments aboard India's Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft, they had found evidence of water locked in mineral grains on the surface of the moon. "Chandrayaan-2 would be launched by a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) powered by an indigenously developed cryogenic engine," said the Isro spokesperson.
