The Metal Sheets are thicker but lighter than previous once due to new metallurgy, Gives less noise and increase safety

How did they reduce the sound? What design changes reduced the overall sound of the rifle?

Re: ACOG Alternatives ( Legal )

Sir, Absolutely, This is also i mentuoned :

On Pro side :

1. Cheaper
2. Flexible in mid ranges so does Close combats..
3. Easily available..

But on con side :

1. Putting both scope also need more rail space..
2. Maintenance of both sights and there mounts..
3. Weight of both is more than a single piece..
Sir enough space on INSAS for P rail.

red space can have this rail

regarding blue area, we can have extended P rail on existing rail of INSAS.

Re: ACOG Alternatives ( Legal )

Kunal sir we can have separate thread for list of accessories for INSAS, I think INSAS will be in service for another 10 years so it wont be bad idea to have list of accessories, must have for INSAS to pin it up.

In India.....small arms manufacturing is done by the state-owned company.

Almost all the small arms manufacturers in the Western world are private or public companies that have share-holders, etc to answer to.
They compete in the open market - so the quality and the fit and finish and reliabilty have to be top notch.

Until private industry in India takes over small arms manufacturing - you wont see the kind of fit and finish that you see from the Berreta, H&K, Glock, Colt, etc.

For Comparison, This is not a this vs that ..

Have a look at the thread, these are talked over and over, Don't hijack it..

New thread for what? MSMC is a part of the INSAS family. This is the right thread for it.

I would be nice to see companies like L&T, etc. manufacture the small arms at least, but this isnt going to happen in the near future probably.

@sayareakd sir..
Kunal sir these type of strips of P rail are easy to get and they wont carry much weight.

but it wont be that strong compare to three side quad rail guard. Advantage of existing lower hand guard is that it provide protection against the heating of barrel, if you drill this strip in it will give some stability, still regular three side is much better. Polymer wont provide that much stability if drilled into.

Kunal sir i have no idea about cleaning of INSAS but i think something like this survival kit will help in field.

all these things add weight to rifle, but it gives the soldier big moral booster, as he knows that he is better armed and prepare to take on enemy.

You can't expect much private player participation in India in small arms field,as we are having strict gun laws.

Ture, But this is a faster solution and will cost much lesser and if one does the drill he must make sure it stays for long time.. :)

Once its done, Just mount anything one wish to..
