Order for 10,000 JVPCs placed by CRPF. That's huge. :clap2:
The 10K order was placed some time ago but these are small fry considering the market. OFB say they can expand production to 40,000/year, imagine the orders they would need to make this viable- probably 300,000+

SPG will order maybe 100, max 300...peanuts.

Other CAPFs like CISF, ITBP, SSB, BSF etc are likely to follow CRPF in the next few years, maybe 3-4,000 orders each at least initially.

state/local/city police forces are now finally up-arming so is a huge captive market. Basically anyone that would order an MP-5/does operate a 9mm carbine is to be a likely customer, will have to fight with IWI for the X95 that is gaining market share now but obviously JVPC should have price advantage and most forces other than their elite units won’t something as advanced as the X95.

Obvious elephant in the room is the IA that to this fking day seems happy to stick with the 1920s era 9mm carbine. Market for IA alone is >150K alone.
Will be a sight to be SPG with JVPCs. If it suits them it'll give confidence for more orders from others.
I guess it’s to replace their P90s carried by the close protection team which would mean you’d see an Indian small arm in proximity of the Indian PM wherever he went- quite a sight that I can’t wait to see.

and this should embarrass anyone that would question the quality/capabilities of the JVPC. If it’s good enough for the force that guards the most important VVIP in the country that has the highest manpower-CAPEX ratio of any Indian unit and can go for any small arms that it might desire then it is good enough for anyone.

and army still running around with 9mm carbines that are over 100 years old, just amazing.

Uttar Pradesh Police to stop use of point-303 bore rifles from today. The point-303 bore rifles have been replaced by INSAS and SLR rifles.
i think notification meant & upgradation program is over & .303 will not be used anymore
Havent seen .303 in cities for a long time, might be notification for signalling that all police units(village & cities) to stop using.303

In major cities insas can be seen,in last 3years excalibur can also be sighted

#Small_Arms_Update OFB Excalibur MK-1 Rifle inducted into CRPF Numbers unknown as of now. This is the newest variant with longer rails on dust cover than the previous one. Excalibur series is pretty successful among locally made firearms. More 20,000 ordered.
