I just read through the OFB site, and it says that cheek rests are given as accessories with every telescopic sight for the INSAS. Then why is an improvised one needed?

EDIT: Unless of course that thing there is the cheek rest given by OFB. If it is, I've completely lost faith in OFB.

I dont think its OFB fault, But the new GSQR on Improved Insas was never issued rather focused on FINSAS..

INSAS 1B is actually 80s design, 1B1 is improved but when there is issue of handling and flexibility compare to new mordern Rifles such as FN SCAR etc, it falls behind..

No, Its just like that..

Kunal cant OFB use some new aluminium based light weight alloy to make the upper receiver and cut the Top rail on the receiver itself and on the plastic handgaurd put rail on atleast top and bottom and change the selecter switch to some kind of polymer like in AR's . would improve the ergonomics atleast.

Well i told the same to the OFB official at expo but they insist that such project have no future unless user demand it so..

Present Insas Rifle metallurgy use element which is thicker yet lighter than previous models, But still there is lack of technical knowledge about western AR metallurgy.

This can be away if there is JV, Unfortunately most western companies dont like to share such knowledge, example is zittra ( X95 ) fall..
