Isn't INS Vikrant the most well protected aircraft carrier in the world right now?.. 64 Barak-8 is a AD protection standard, not even US carrier have.

She is definitely the most hard hitting aircraft carrier in Asia.
:)

Given the fact that Kuznetsov & Shandong carry not not than 24 jets each, 36-40 of her jets soundly outnumber them even at only 40k tons.

Also their Su-33/J-15s cannot take off with more than 4 AAMs, or carry more than the 30% fuel while taking off from sky jumps. While the Mig-29K, with all its reliability & maintainability issues, can apparently takeoff from her with more than 5 ton payload (runways are comparatively longer too).

Problem being Vikrant won't have the full complement of Mig29 fighters. It has to share it with Viky. With current numbers decreased to 42, we can't even get it from Russia since they don't operate that. We should have brought Mig29k design and IP.

This article mentions another drydock.
Is it same size as the one on which Vikrant was constructed or is it larger?

A complement of migs and naval tejas ?
It's not our wishlist. It's reg what Navy wants. It has to think on what to do with resources. If it decides for 600m do you want a frigate or 12-14 Naval Tejas they will go for an Frigate obviously. Moreover Tejas can only do CAP, not offensive missions.
The only thing I can see Naval Tejas is as an trainer on shore based ski jump base. Moreover NLCA development was also funded by Navy. It won't find anymore on integration of weapons, drop tanks etc. It's right from Navy point of view.

Unfortunately when both of them have to be on station at the same time, both carriers will have less complement of fighters. Until 2030 atleast.

Because western carriers are totally depending on the escort fleet for protection.

You are kidding yourselves to believe that. Currently, India, Russian and Chinese aircraft carriers are only capable of providing cover for their own fleet. The anti-ships are those missiles from the ships or long range bombers.

Who tells you that?

Nope it's based on our own findings on Mig-29 & Su-33...

With this max skyjump payload Su-33/Joke-15 won't be providing any significant air-cover.
On the other hand, these are the Vikramaditya trials when 5.4t payload was hauled (15% penalty). https://thebharatmilitaryreview.blogspot.com/2013/10/mig-29k-naval-fighter-jet-taking-off.html?m=1

Oh, little Vikky also has greater range (but that I didn't mention as there would be fleet support tanker vessels).

PS @no smoking, The link you provided is just another... Cope chink cope :cool3: Cope chink cope :cool1: Cope chink cope :hat:

It says
The article also claimed that a J-15 fully loaded with internal fuel could only carry a two-ton payload, limiting the aircraft to two YJ-83K anti-ship missiles and two PL-8 short range missiles (SRAAMs). In actuality, two tons is sufficient to carry two YJ-83K family missiles, two PL-8 SRAAMs, and also at least two additional PL-12 missiles with pylons all inclusive. Finally, the article asserted the J-15 would somehow be limited to only “120 kilometers of attack range” – a curious claim, given that its combat radius with full internal fuel would enable a reach of over 1,200 kilometers
Typo 🤣 We found that Su-33 can only take 2-3tons payload above its empty weight from skyjump.
That means it either takes 4 AAMs & 30% internal internal fuel... or it takes 2 AShMs & so less fuel that fuel that limits range to 120km (at full internal it is close to 2000km).

Ok now you can continue coping, with your only 24 Joke-15s on a 60000ton ship. Because you won't find any trial photos like the set I posted above! :nono: Just whatever I say...

To be fair to the chinks they achieved more than Russia.. they made the mistake of copying world's worst carrierbourne fighter jet in the world, that Russia will now retire in favour of Mig-35K.
But Chink manages to flyoff & arrest Joke-15 with YJ-91 & 2 Pl-8 (unknown fuel percentage tho).

Bleh, if we had Kuznetsov instead of Vikramaditya, than how many Mig-29K it would have carried?
And I also wonder that Soviets had tested both Su-33 and Mig-29K on Kuznetsov back in late 80's, but choose Su-33?
