Will it work?? If both could be combined, that would be fabulous..Then one could deploy all of his capable aircraft MiG-29K, LCA-N, Rafale-M etc with heavy AEW&C aircraft.

Anyone with technological and design background can help here???
American AC have 4 catapult systems . im sure its easy to hav two catapult and stobar ramp in an AC.What would matter in such a system would be time to launch an airraft and time to switch from landing to takeoff mode or how feasable to operate concurently ..

India’s first Indigenous developed aircraft carrier is all set to be launched back into the water after completing all the structural work barring a bit of ongoing work on the superstructure.

All Major major equipment have been integrated with the ship now and ship weights 3,500 tons heavier than Initial launch. Phase III will initiate fitting-out phase which means other equipment like Weapons, Communication suite along with Radars and Surveillance equipment before it starts in sea trials.

Recently Modi government has also set aside about $5 million for development of the indigenous aircraft carrier-II (IAC-II) program — INS Vishal, which will be much larger ship and has been planned to be a 65,000-ton Ship and might feature Next generation General Atomics Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) Systems.

^^ This is the "Real Official" launch. They did a "symbolic" launch in 2011 and also in 2013 just so that they could reply something in the parliament.

Nice ... We should also go for 2nd Vikrant Class which ship yard officials are very much confident about completing new 40k T carrier by 2020 . 4 carriers For West , east , south and Far east .

Unconfirmed news was that IN already requested for information regarding this.

.

so they didn't launched the Ship today .. any reasons ..!!
One of my friends working there told that they are not sure whether the ship will float or not.So had too fill hydrogen for that. And they will put the ship one more day in docks after filling hydrogen.
Donno much about ships or hydrology. So am just copy pasting the words of my friend working there.

^^^Is this INs Vikrant??
Look pretty
Vikrant is being constructed in open dry dock. This one seems to be covered... also to my untrained eyes this ship seems bigger than Vikrant.
There is a lady with churidar in that picture :biggrin2: ..... so it must be IAC-1 .

It's an open dry dock ..... the part that looks like top cover is part of the ship itself .

Shipyard to Undock INS Vikrant Today

KOCHI: The indigenous aircraft carrier (IAC) being built at the Cochin Shipyard for the Indian Navy will be undocked on Saturday, marking completion of the critical stage of phase-II of the constriction.

“Though it is a major step towards the the completion of a crucial phase of the prestigious project, no formal function has been organised in connection with the undocking of the vessel,” said Shipyard authorities.

“Undocking means that the work that needs to be carried out in the dry dock has been completed. All the underwater works have been completed, and the ship is ready to float out of the dry dock. The remaining work can be completed while the ship is floating,” they said.

When the first phase was completed in August 2013, the 37,500-tonne warship was launched by then Defence Minister A K Antony’s wife Elizabeth, and was named INS Vikrant. The warship is supposed to begin sea trials in 2017, and will be inducted into the Navy by 2018 end.

INS Vikrant is capable of carrying 36 fixed-wing aircraft, including Russian-made MiG-29K and the yet-to-be-inducted indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
