India's INS Vikramaditya CBG steals limelight from China's Liaoning CBG | idrw.org
Last Week Images of China's aircraft carrier and its accompanying warships were released by the PLAN (People's Liberation Army Navy) to celebrate the battle group's first successful deployment. and this week India's second aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya coming from russia to India was welcomed by Western Naval fleet and images of which were released by Indian Navy .
But It was INS Vikramaditya Carrier Battle Group which impressed Western defence experts the most , David Cenciotti a defence expert in this blog said that chinese were able to put three destroyers, three frigates, three submarines and an amphibious assault ship.and eight jet fighters overflying CBG during the return leg of the cruise to Qingdao home port on China's east coast. but he also pointed out that no logistics ships were visible in Liaoning's recent photos which highlights chinese navies Limited logistical support .
where else INS Vikramaditya CBG accompanied by INS Trikand, a Talwar class frigate, INS Delhi, a Delhi class destroyer, and INS Deepak, the fleet tanker, has just entered Indian Navy's Area of Operation in northwestern Arabian Sea where it met the rest of the Western Fleet, which includes India's other aircraft carrier INS Viraat, two Delhi class destroyers, three Trishul class stealth frigates, a Godavari class frigate and a couple of offshore vessels.
Unlike the Chinese one, the Indian armada comprises some support units that made the very long journey possible: a sign that, unlike China, India is already capable to project naval power on long distances and deployment of Carrier Battle Group away from Indian shore looks more stable operational capability
