Wow, out of nowhere so many pics of MALABAR 21.
Marcos are doing it right.
In the spectrum of SOF modernization in India it appears that "Marcos lead the way":fyeah:
(NSG is probably a federal CT unit, so excluding it).

Any Idea why the UCP is still in service🤔? Probably the metallic greyish tone of ucp is favourable in ship-boarding ops?

Waiting to see them with COMTACs and IR strobes. The way they are thinking is right. They are gradually becoming more oriented to advanced SOF tasks.

Any video of the exercise? It would be interesting to see the shoot and manuever drill of Marcos and how they fare against the 'yanks' And 'japs'.😄

Not if they send those Marcos
I don't see why they would send para since Quad is primarily focused on the maritime domain (do correct me if I'm wrong)
Edit:
Or (((((even less likely)))) they probably bought those neat gear beforehand and started training for this exercise in particular???
Don't wanna look like amateurs in front of seals and whatever AUS and JAP has!!
Can’t rule it out (sorry guys)

remember how the IA gets the guys going on foreign exercises better gear gear than they get for domestic ops

Umrikans use multicam
Probably not,

Not yet
Will be released (probably) soon
But Marcos have more than enough combat exposure than Japs, I don't know anywhere where they have operated

Battle belts and the high cut with current gen NVGs, these are the closest Indian (military) SOFs have gotten to their counterparts in the west, even their stance and the fact that they don’t have bloused trousers means they fit in pretty well to this crowd (when usually Indian units look very awkward next to Western units with all their gear).

another reason why trainings with Russians/SCO is garbage. The ‘commando’ culture that has infected Indian SF community is almost solely from there, instead they should adopt an ‘operator’ approach.

let’s see how things go, one teak being outfitted like this one time doesn’t mean anything. Only as good as your weakest link, this should be their standard look every time you see them, not in dry suits with a rotten AK and dagger duct to them.

+ the sole place the UCP feels at home is the maritime environment so no issues with it in this application.

I believe the Commando culture is due to the Unconventional Unit under Conventional Command approach.
The soldiers/officers i've interacted with know what they are raised for (this can be different from your experiences with them)
