This is from an exercise with Russian Army.

And that's not AK-103 but AK-74M (5.45x39mm).

Why SF opted Aks for modernisation with Fab kits instead of modifying much lighter Vz58s as Vz58s were the preferred weapon of SF over Aks until Tavors came.

SF have very few AKs that have been modified. VZs life cycle had come to an end. No point spending to revamp it. Honestly the cost of modernization of an AK is more expensive than the weapon it self.

In addition, choices in the market are also likely to be very limited. VZ58 is nowhere as widespread as AKs are (and consequentially, availability of upgrade parts for it), and no parts meant for AK can be interchanged with VZ anyway.
