Doesn't a platoon or section have guys with higher powered optics and specialized equipment for extra range while maintaining ammo compatibility with the other guys or something like that or is that just the Westerners?
In India?? You guys need to keep your feet in India. You guys are in some Utopian world all together!!

Ya'll Nibbiars if you really want to discuss of equipping the SF then talk about realistic weapons like this in development.

I am pretty sure this guy would be running in outs of South Block for the approvals of testing of this product.....We should understand this is Indian Army who believes in life long testing..😎

Designated Marksmen in a section(not squad) is non existent in Indian Infantry.

However there is a Sniper in a QRT who is basically a marksman by skill but called a Sniper.

Sniper school, sniping and DM are all not taken as seriously as western armies do.

Night Blindness is the second point.

Third is connectivity between the assets.I dont think even a Company commander can call in Air strikes in our system...if i am not wrong.

Bayonets were used in trench warfare😉. No the Indian Govt doesn't issue any knife, let alone high steel, full tang, serrated tanto head knives. Many a time we would use the khukri.
Sir do you feel the 7.62x39 is good for infantry considering Indian Army wants AK-203 (AK-103M) to be made standard issue while other countries use high muzzle velocity rounds for infantry like the Warsaw Pact (former) nations using 5.45x39 and NATO using 5.56x45 NATO.

7.62x 39 is great for infantry well as SF. The range at which the contact takes place is well within it's effective ballistic reliability. What matters is the weapon system and the attachments that are put on to aid in recoil management and consistency.

Yes sir, AK Iron Sights are better than INSAS ones so it will improve the effectiveness of a normal IA soldier.
By the way sir, you must have watched URI, how much did you cringed watching it😁?
