Act of Valor had romantic/ family related scenes as well.
About the pilot thing.. it might have some story into it.. don't judge before you've even seen the film.
Pilot thing is 100% bullshit. IAF has no SOAR type dedicated SOF helo unit. Thus only veteran officer will be chosen for this job.

Female pilot unnecessary increases risk. Say if like US Bin Laden raid helo crashes, then female POW in the hands of LeT is a disaster. Think of Saurabh Kalia x 100.

Officers might now ask how's the Josh to jawans and all but there is far more interaction between junior leaders and jawans in SF than in a conventional unit.
JCOs interact with enlisted and act as nodes to officer. Officer himself only gives SITREP during sand model discussion and then gives one final rally. SF units push their officers harder during training. So 'josh' pep talk is stupid even in small units.

Judging before watching is stupidity I guess.Whatever the movie is, It's a step in the right direction. I think we all should support it instead of nitpicking.
The only reason these kind of movies aren't made in India is because people don't go out to watch them as they aren't interested.
So which producer will want to sink his money into a project that won't give him enough returns on his investment?
Now the public sentiment has changed and they might be more open to movies portraying the military and nationalistic fervour.
But remember, it's still the old audience used to watching romantic bullshit by Dawoodwood.
So whoever is making the movie will have to add some elements of drama in order to make it more appeasing to a larger audience.
We have Sunny Deol carry a garland of grenades and a rocket launcher and win 1971 by himself in Border. In Lakshya movie 9mm pistols act like sniper rifle and Hritik Roshan single handedly captures Tiger Hill. In LOC father in law and son in law die in quick succession.

Bollywood is making a copy of Zero Dark Thirty here. By using edgy lines they try to make Yami Gautam stand out. Thing is this is to act as propaganda for BJP before 2019 for normies and that I am 100% happy with.

No it was not, and Yes India has Special Frontier force that operated in Tibet region and was dismantled. Current Indian SOF commandos do not have comparable levels of terrain knowledge and no operation in Pak or China to carry out time sensitive missions. Turn enemies Strength areas to weakness and so on. We do have spy networks but no SOF capabilities.
And what makes to write something so silly? Please explain based on facts. Based on everything I know, India SOF are some of the most active in the world far more than SAS and a lot of EU based forces. Only SF that are more active are US based.

Can you please suggest any time critical operations done by them which would have upset or destroyed enemy assets like we lost/damaged our submarines? Any critical assignations carried out where it was not pinned to TTP?

Indian SF, from all 3 services are very busy in various ops. Only COIN ops or active encounters are taken at a slow pace. Most other ops which in 90% of cases remain classified are time bound. Be it MARCOS raging through high seas on anti piracy ops, Para SF doing time bound raids into Myanmar, POK against very well trained and equipped forces in formidable terrain. SG & SFF are also busy in cross border raids. Garuds are active in COIN ops in the valley.

A Part of the Movie URI , showing NVGs and drones
Front lenses on most modern NVGs have a very mild bluish tint rather than green and nor do they make that high pitched futuristic whine, they just click like any other normal switch when switched on.
I blame COD.

Also, they are showing image intensifiers being used but the vision is thermal.

Sometimes knowing a little more than others about certain things is a curse.

NSG must have its own air wing, panel urges Centre

TH13KRANSG.jpg

A Parliamentary panel has recommended that the Centre urgently take steps to ensure that the National Security Guard (NSG) — the country’s premier counter-terrorist and contingency force — is equipped with its own dedicated air wing.

The committee headed by Congress leader P. Chidambaram observed with anguish that the two Mi-17 helicopters procured by the NSG in 1988-99, were grounded and unavailable. While one of the helicopters met with an accident on February 22, 2002, and got damaged extensively; the second one was unserviceable due to want of spare parts.

The 215th Parliamentary Standing Committee Report on Home Affairs tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday recommended that the “Ministry of Home Affairs should make urgent and sincere efforts to commission a dedicated Air Wing of NSG and provide requisite types and number of air assets to strengthen the aviation capability of the force.”

The NSG’s delay in reaching Mumbai during the November 2008 terrorist attacks on the city had come under severe criticism, with the non-availability of dedicated aircraft hampering the force’s rapid reaction capabilities.

“The Committee observes that NSG has yet not tested its power to commandeer any aircraft in real-time circumstances and feels that, unless this power is used, the force would remain unaware of the response time and logistical challenges that it may face in operational situations,” the panel noted.

The NSG was raised in 1986 following the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Operation Blue Star. The force, which is trained to operate as an elite urban anti-terrorist and anti-hijack force, doesn’t have a cadre of its own or direct recruitment and is instead dependent on personnel sent on deputation from the army and the central armed police forces (CAPF).

You're not presenting the complete picture.
Congress started NSG modernisation right after 2012. Khangress treated NSG like a stepson until the moment they neded them.
Yes Modi has improved it as well but more is needed.
