Mindless comparison doesnt yield anything useful, only a misplaced sense of discontentment. This is as true for this thread as it is for life in general.

Like I said, a comparison between gear and the tactics that flows from that gear is fine, comparing sizes is irrelevant.

If you want to really compare sizes of SOF Forces, then compare the sizes of the two militaries, their deployments, their expeditionary vs defensive natures, their defense budgets etc. etc.

Just comparing manpower strength is looking at a very selective facet and hardly of any relevance here.
Comparing our SF strength with other country's SF strength is wrong???
I just pointed out the military structure and how the manage it logistically is what I tried to show!! There are countless significantly smaller countries with smaller manpower follow the US Military structure as it is, but are they using their military in an expedition??

lo teen lakh rupay ka SCAR. Ek number ka bakchodi hai yeh.

Wtf is wrong with our SF guys priorities?! Is it ignorance or just unawareness... They don't have basic fucking ballistic protection or proper comms and they want this overpriced piece of shit.

I am not a gun knowing guy, but don't you guys think that should used Modified AKs more and more in our SFs as against Scar or Tavor for that matter?

Our SF don’t have equipment plus our SF ops are not Intelligence Operated, their CIA is an integral part of their Armed Forces and we have made R&AW as a civilian organisation which should be a military Intelligence organisation like the paki ISI.

MoD should have gone for this gun as a DMR for AFSOD as you will need a DMR as well Considering AFSOD to be the best in India, I guess neglecting DMRs is a big mistake as pistols, SMGs and assault rifles world class are made in India but no DMR which is a necessity I want the AFSOD to be fully gucci geared with all kinds of guns!

Scar is not an overpriced piece of shit. Don't go by YouTube videos. There are multiple videos that have dissed the Tavor and yet it's a proper bread and butter rifle for us.

This again is an ignorant comment. There are some definite advantages to having a civilian organization. And it was acknowledged by Durrani, ISI chief himself. And many ace intelligence agencies have civilian make ups.

I don’t know wtf is going in minds of people in DFI, I mean the US Army trials proved FN SCAR to be much reliable than the competitors.

In July 2007, the United States Army announced a limited competition between the M4 carbine, FN SCAR, HK416, and the previously shelved HK XM8. Ten examples of each of the four competitors were involved. During the testing, 6,000 rounds apiece were fired from each of the carbines in an "extreme dust environment". The purpose of the shoot-off was to assess future needs, not to select a replacement for the M4.

During the test, the SCAR suffered 226 stoppages. Since a percentage of each weapons' stoppages were caused by magazine failures, the FN SCAR, XM8 and HK416 performed statistically similarly.[29] The FN SCAR ranked second to the XM8 with 127 stoppages, but with fewer stoppages compared to the M4 with 882 stoppages and the HK416 with 233. This test was based on two previous systems assessments that were conducted using the M4 carbine and M16 rifle at Aberdeen Proving Ground in 2006 and the summer of 2007 before the third limited competition in the fall of 2007. The 2006 test focused only on the M4 and M16. The Summer 2007 test had only the M4 but increased lubrication. Results from the second test resulted in a total of 307 stoppages for the M4 after lubrication was increased, but did not explain why the M4 suffered 882 stoppages with that same level of lubrication in the third test.

It is overpriced. And these guys are Ex-Navy SEALs. They've seen combat with it. Maybe the piece of shit comment was out of line, but I really hope the SF guys evaluate them based on reliability.

The tavor was dissed for a lot of reasons, but never reliability. Imo, any reliable and practical weapon is a good weapon. But the weapon has to be reliable and practical. Tavor is. The SCAR isn't as practical as other options in the market due to the exorbitant price tag and now reliability is an issue? I say simply not worth the risk of our soldiers lives..

Those trials were conducted in a dusty environment. So, I think it has issues with high altitude. Where most of our engagements will be. Also, Navy SEALs still prefer to carry M4s. And Green Berets didn't even look at the SCAR. Went with the proven AR 15 platform instead.

I'm sure the US Army and Navy had some rationale behind equipping their soldiers with SCARs, but if those same soldiers are having problems with it, then it wasn't worth the money.
Both the Rangers and SEALs ditched the 5.56 version, because it was overpriced.

Also, there were problems with the charging handle, which is a reciprocating one, getting in the way when they have to use the magazine well grip from an awkward firing position. And the fact that it is bulky...

Think it's just the ear protection part of the pasgt style helmet
No its not, it is a full cut ballistic helmet and you are mistaking the full cut portion to be some kind of ear pro.

So list your gear weapons everything... you want to see in SF. Doesn't matter what the cost or anything else is , just list it.
