The seeming freedom that Garuds are given to select their weapons and accessories is encouraging. They seem to be constantly trying out new stuff whilst PARA (SF) has remained static for the best part of a decade now
That’s because they were 1200 chaps up until recently, individual tenders would be less than 100 crore each, so file moves faster.

Para Infantry unit personnel with a jamming system!!
This is not Para SF!!

We will need a far larger airborne infantry if a two front war was to break out. While it's okay to have focus on SF, expansion of airborne battalions is a must.
Nothing fancy, just good ol static line with streamlined ways of providing logistical support.

that isn’t a jammer it’s a man portable radioset.

Fully agreed, there is the 50(independent) Para brigade that aims to do this but their manpower and firepower is severely restricted. India needs something like 82nd airborne but just as importantly it needs something like the 101st airborne assualt force aka An entire brigade devoted to fighting and insertion using dedicated helo lift. The IA were said to be experimenting with this but it’s not going to work unless they get heavier lift helos, ALHs are not sufficient on their own.
National Security Guards (NSG)
26 Special Composite Group (SCG) Mumbai

Is this actually from NSG or from a private company making a pitch?

either way it seems as though 26 SCG is getting more and more gucci, I wonder if they get a higher budget allocation than the other hubs as they are in Mumbai?
Must be from a few years ago, don’t see NSG with the SPAS too much anymore.

I'm rather fond of the Russian way of doing things here.
VDV is exceptionally large for it's role and, with the geographic specialization, seems to have sorted out it's priorities and method of delivering logistics and self sustaining the units as well. The speed with which USSR and now Russia's paratroopers responded with when invading Ossetia and Abkhazia and responding to Chinese incursions earlier was very impressive.
The American troops definitely operate with different priorities because of the immense firepower they can bring down but it's a costly thing to do and unsustainable against a peer force.

BREAKING NEWS!

India has ordered QUAD NODS for SF,
reports Sandeep Unnithan for India Today.

India's elite soldiers are getting US SOCOM-kit to replace several pieces of Israeli and Russian-origin equipment:

For those of you who don’t know, Sandeep Unnithan is a highly credible journalist; he was the first to report the existence of the K-missile family.

As I mentioned earlier, Sandeep Unnithan is a highly reliable journalist who works for India Today; he is not a noob. That image is NOT just for representation; it's accurate. Nevertheless, the army will never officially acknowledge this.

This deal is FMS straight outta Uncle Sam's supermarket, So sadly no TONBO here🥺.
Ah man. Shucks. Would be way better if TONBO is involved. Hope they give a little bit of funding to the likes of tonbo, which actually come up with first class products, and cut a little funding to BEL, which only make red dot scopes.
